Ch. 6 I want you!

     Fury P.O.V

     We all stood there in shock, Clint still on the floor. I said, "I want him to join the Avengers." There were cries of protest from Tony unsurprisingly. Thor, on the other hand, looked like he might jump for joy, Thor after a few moments suddenly boomed out "I get to fight alongside The Hero tis an honor." 

     Tony Scowled "You fight with heroes every day." he said spreading his arms in annoyance. "We're all heroes here aren't we?" Tony asked Thor incredulously. "Nay I do not fight with true heroes every day. Heroes yes but not selfless heroes, well not you Tony." Thor said. Clint snickered at the last part. 

He probably would be laughing but I suppose it would probably hurt with an arrow in the shoulder. "What do you mean by that Thor?" Tony asked angrily getting up in Thor's face. "What I mean by that is that you fight because of the fame, some of us fight because they're ordered to, Steve fights because he wants to. I fight because of an oath." Thor said. 

"Oh yeah?" Tony said. Tony was sick of Thor, all of this fanboying over this kid and for what? Thor was a member of the greatest superhero team ever assembled and he was more concerned about a kid, who as far as Tony knew only blew up a school bus. "And what makes that kid any better?" Tony asked Thor his voice rising in volume. 

     This seemed to anger Thor as he boomed "What makes him better is his humility that you do not possess! He has fought in two wars and saved the world both times. No one has heard of him, no one pays him, he does not like to fight, he does not receive any recognition for what he has done. He has done more than you will ever achieve Tony. Fighting those two wars he has lost many friends and his fiance. If I could tell you his stories I would." 

     I decided to intervene before lightening started jumping and lasers started pulsing. "Thor because you seem to be closer to him than us will you please go to him with my offer to join the Avengers." 

Thor nodded "Aye I will, hopefully, he will accept, he is very forgiving but insulting his Fiance normally gets things killed." Tony went white at that and exclaimed "Hey I didn't shoot him!" 

Thor shot back "An arrow is nothing to him. It's just another small scar to add to the collection!" Then Thor disappeared leaving the smell of ozone. I glared at Tony "You better hope that kid can forgive you." Then Natasha said something that blew us all out of our boots though I don't think she meant for us to hear it. "You know he's kinda cute."

     Percy P.O.V

    I was swimming laps in the ocean around the Helicarrier. Hey, it was kinda cool. I was on my eighth lap when Thor appeared above me. "Friend Percy, Fury wishes to talk with you again." I rolled my eyes "You'll have to get me there Thor!" I yelled up to him. Suddenly I was in the helicarrier in front of the Avengers, shirtless in swim trunks. Great. Fury spoke up "I want you to join the Avengers" Fury had spread his hands a bit, almost as if in welcome. 

     "Alright, I guess my life can't get any more dangerous." I shrugged thinking about the many times I'd almost died. Let's see what damage the mortal world can provide I thought. Tony spoke up again, man I really should bring duct tape next time. "Alright!? That's all you're gonna say? We're the Avengers! What have you done? Who are you?" He yelled at me. 

I was angry now what had I done? I'll tell him. I started speaking in a voice that demanded attention. Everyone in the helicarrier's cockpit turned their attention to me. "Who am I? I am Perseus Alexios Jackson the son of Poseidon god of the sea, The earth-shaker, I retrieved Zeus' Master Bolt and Hades Helm of Darkness, I found the Golden Fleece, I destroyed Circe's Island, I defeated Ares the god of war in single combat, I sailed the sea of monsters, I have destroyed most monsters in Greek mythology, I earned the respect of Artemis goddess of the Moon and Hunt, I accepted the Titan's curse, I traversed the Labyrinth, I bared the curse of Achilles, I was a Praetor of Rome, I found the Legions eagle, I am the bane of Titans and Giants alike, I am the conqueror of Kronos and Geae, One of the seven of the prophecy, I am the pupil of Lupa, I am one of three survivors of Tarturus, I am the Savior of Olympus and Fiance to the Architect of Olympus." He finished. 

     The red head was staring at him open mouthed, weather it was because he was shirtless or because of what he'd done Percy wasn't sure, he didn't really care. Tony started again "You did all that pfft, yeah right." Thor spoke up again, shooting Percy a look. "It is true Man of Iron, it would do you to remember well, he is feared by most gods, you would not do well to anger him." He said. Tony spoke again "He doesn't look so powerful. Thor you could probably beat him to a pulp." Thor looked jumpy all the sudden as Tony continued "Come on lets go outside and you two can fight." Tony smiled smugly at that, expecting me to back out. "Alright I agree, Thor lets go outside and don't worry I won't do too much.

     We were on the helicarriers flight deck now most crew that got word had come up to watch the fight. Thor whirled his hammer and flew into the air, I sprinted and jumped into the Ocean.

Tony P.O.V

      The kid just jumped into the ocean, this will be good can't wait for him to get his butt handed to him. I looked at Thor who looked around, then I noticed something strange, storm clouds were gathering around us. Suddenly the kid launched out of the water like a rocket, a giant hurricane surrounding him, he pulled something out of his pocket and it turned into his sword, He walked across the water towards Thor, who honestly looked worried. Then the kid swung his left arm, still so far away that it had no chance of hitting Thor. I figured something was wrong with his head. That is until the Ocean responded and sent a wave at Thor. Thor maneuvered away and sent a lightning bolt at the kid. The kid hit it away with his sword! They stared each other down until another man appeared on the Ocean. 

     Thor bowed. "Lord Triton" we heard "to what do we owe the pleasure?" The man spoke, "I heard my brother was in town and wanted to pay him a visit." Even from here I could see Percy's eyes flash with anger. The man lunged at Percy then, swords clanging against each other, as a hurricane once again formed around Percy. He fought with such mastery it told us he'd done it for a long time, lunging, ducking, diving, slashing, stabbing all at the right times. 

     As the battle continued on Thor came back to the ship. Natasha asked, "Who is that Thor?" "That is Triton son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, he is the messenger of the sea and heir to his father's throne." He said his eyes alight as he watched the dueling brothers. "So" Natasha started "Percy is fighting a god." Thor smiled "Yes indeed, but he's fought many things worse than the god of waves." We turned back to the battle. 

    The seas raged with their anger and clashing swords, it looked like the ocean was fighting itself. The battle went on back and forth Percy slashing, stabbing, and diving in and out of the water. Suddenly Percy lunged forward and disarmed the god. With a sword at his throat, the god retreated into the Ocean. Percy came back to the ship but as he stepped aboard he was flashed away. We looked at Thor "Nay it was not me, his gods probably need him." 

     A half-hour later he appeared again, tears streaming down his face. Thor rushed forward "What is wrong hero?" Percy looked at him "They took my death from me, I can never die Thor." Then the ocean around him responding instantly erupting and becoming a typhoon.
