Chapter 1 - Backstory

Lena's POW -

"mom! can you go inside and get my script i forgot it in my room!!", i yell as i sit in the car waiting for my mom to drive me to my audition. My mom walks out of the house with my script and some yogurt. "Thanks, they would proplably kick me out if i wouldn't have my script, i have to nail this callback".

I put my feet on the car table and eat my yogurt while i scan my script one last time. This is my  first callback, and my very first audition ever, see we just moved to L.A a month ago to start my acting career, we used to live in a small town called williams ford, yeah i know you probably haven't heard of it but it's where i grew up.

It's always just been me and my mom, my dad left us when i was just a baby, but i'll skip all the depressing details, lets just say that we didn't exactly live the luxury life. Annyways, we decided to move after 10th grade, it took everything we owned to move to U.S.A but somehow we did it and well here we are.

Now back to reality. I can't focus on reading my script all i have been thinking about is that cute guy my best friend from back home sent me yesterday, he is supposed to be on this tv show that i'm auditioning for, i guess that's what's making me nervous. I never used to get nervous before going on stage or just being on camera, thats what drove me to move, everyone in my small town practices football and when i say everyone i mean everyone.

That's kind of why i always felt like an outsider, i never felt like home but out here i feel like everyone gets me and i can be myself. We arrive at the destination, i get this big knot in my stomach when i walk in to the building. I see two other girls sitting in the waiting room, they both look as nervous as me.

I tell my mom that i will call her when i'm done, these auditions usually last a while. I sit down on a chair furthest away from the door just so i won't be picked first.
