"Hey, Mom." I said as I hugged her. We sat outside the Cafe'. She held be tight for a moment before letting me go and looking at me. She told me years ago it's because she missed so much that she wasn't going to miss a single change in me.

"My beautiful baby." We took a seat at a table outside. We took in the November weather for a moment feeling the short time perfect weather. Nice and warm. December would come around soon and we'd be wearing jackets and wanting to be indoors. "So, I'm glad you want to know this but...why now? It's just kind of out of the blue."

"Honestly, it's Emily...she keeps bringing up how I should know who my father is seeing as my only clue into how I got the gene for being a super must have come from him seeing as your fully human." I said. Janet the waitress set down a plate of fries and our chocolate milkshakes down in front of us. I took a fry and dipped it in my milkshake.

"That's not it...Nora I know you." I just looked up at her then down to my hand. I took another French fry and dipped it. "Something happened yesterday didn't?" She asked. It's nice being out and the open with mom on the truth of my after school job.

"One of the robbers took a girl. No more than six or seven. Her dad tried to stop it but they hit him with the butt of a gun." She looked at me concerned but I continued on. "They're okay now. It just...didn't help that Emily talked to me right before we went in there about the whole thing. As I looked at her and her father and I could see all the similarities in them-see how close they were- and the way he held her when they got back together. It made me think how growing up I was constantly told how I never looked like Will or showed the same care for me like that father did with his daughter. Not that Will was ever much of a father to me like he was to Nate...I should have guessed it at least."

"Have you talk to Dylan about this?" She asked me as she took a French fry for herself.

"A couple of years ago after you told me and everything went down...I told him that there was just too much in my life going on to try and think about that. I still find it hard to talk to Dylan about anything that could relate to Will. He still has nightmares sometimes."

"He had no choice. Will was going-"

"To kill us. I know mom. He knows...but a life's a life to him. Good or bad." there was a moment. I took that moment and breathed in. "I want to know who he is. Will raised me, yes but he never treated me much like his daughter. At least if this guy knows who I am and what I can do I can get answers and maybe... a dad." I said.

"Okay," my mom said quietly with a smile. "I don't remember much about him but...His name Orion Blake. You have his eyes. The color, the shape. You got his cheeks too. He was kind. Really kind. Everything else is kind of blurry."

"That's it?" I asked she nodded. I smiled with her as she held my hand. "Thanks mom."

We finished up lunch and went our separate ways. I went to Cooper Industries. Dylan's been working with his father running the company learning the ways before he starts to follow in his footsteps. I walked past the glass door and over to Dylan who was hunched over doing paper work. I would have never pictured him doing this when we first started going out. He never seemed like he would be that guy, the one that joined the family buisness. He says he likes it and gives him a chance to help more people. Sometimes I don't really believe that, at least the likeing the job part. It also worked to his advantage. He could slip away when he needs it most of the time.

"Keep hunching like that I'm going to have to call you the hunchback of Silver city." Dylan looked up at me with a smile. I returned with a big smile crossing my arms.
