MY GENERAL REVIEW:
To be very honest, I started watching this drama solely because of Choi Minho and Kim Taehyung. Choi Minho cause I fell in love with his character in 'To The Beautiful You' which was the drama that made me enter into the drama world. Yep, that drama is very special in my heart, it's my first love in dramas. Well, Kim Taehyung , cause haha, should I even explain the reason. It's because number 1, I am a proud A.R.M.Y and number 2, V is my biggest bias wrecker. My bias is Jin, as you all know, and I am really weird cause I ship Taejin more than Namjin , okay soooo weird, anyways.... let's go back to the drama.
I started watching this drama right after I finished watching the 20th (last) episode of Moon Lovers/ Scarlet Heart and those who have watched Moon Lovers will know the state I was in.... I started this drama without any motive, I just wanted to check whether historical dramas were all wicked, yes, wicked. Well, the first episode had me all entangled in it. Two poor seeming but still cute looking guys jump off a wall, one gets killed because he saw something he wasn't supposed to see, the appearance of a beautiful maiden called Ah Ro who is gifted in the art of storytelling, and what more do you need but a comfy couch with a bag of popcorn in hand, haha....
But as the story progresses, you realize that there's a lot more to it.
You see the Queen, and you initially think she's the evil Queen who's always seen in fairy tales like Snow White.... but as you progress, you actually see the soft side of the Queen, the way she is willing to sacrifice even her life for the safety of her son and the kingdom is amazing.
You see Hwarang, and it's completely impossible not to fall in love with each of them, the cute and innocent Hansung, the girly guy Yeo Wool, the sweet but annoying brother Soo Ho, the charming Ban Ryu, not to forget the breathtakingly handsome *takes a deep breath* Ji Dwi and the undeniably awesome Sun Woo.... indeed they deserve to be called "Hwarang" or "Flowering Knights".
