It was 3am and Brendon still hadn't come to bed. You got up and made your way into the lounge, finding him sat on the sofa, cross legged, his laptop placed on his legs.
"Brendon..." You sighed and he nodded his head. "Don't worry about it, please. Come to bed." Brendon shook his head.
"I'll be there soon, I promise." He grabbed his coffee from the table and took a long sip of it, the caffeine barely keeping him awake. You sat down next to him and he swivelled his laptop so you couldn't see what he was looking at.

"Are you still looking at those articles?" You asked and he hesitated before shaking his head. "I know you're upset, Brendon. I do know you, I am your girlfriend after all." You frowned and he lowered his head slightly.
"I'm fine." He muttered.
"Are you crying?" You asked, rubbing his arm.
"No." Brendon said bluntly. He clicked on something and his eyes started welling up.
"Come here." You said and he put his laptop on the table and hugged you tightly. Brendon buried his head into your shoulder and sobbed.

"I'm sorry." He pulled away from you after realising he had created a small wet patch from his tears.
"No, it's okay." You comforted him. "It's okay to cry, don't worry about it."
"I didn't... I didn't do it..." Brendon started before you cut him off.
"Brendon, I know-"
"Everybody thinks I did and I really didn't-"
"It's okay-"
"It's not okay! Everybody thinks I cheated on you!" He snapped and you remained silent. "Sorry." He muttered.

"It's fine." You smiled slightly before your expression turned serious. "Talk to me, please, Bren." He looked close to tears once more.
"E-everybody hates me now... Dallon will and Kenny will and Zack will and Dan-"
"They won't believe those stupid articles. They love and believe you." You comforted him but he shook his head.
"The fans... They'll hate me and- and you'll get nasty comments and stuff and it's all my fault." Brendon put his head in his hands.
"It's not your fault at all!" You exclaimed. "You went out with a friend and the paparazzi blew it completely out of proportion." You stroked his arm and he nodded his head in agreement sadly.

"W-what if I really did cheat on you?" Brendon said slowly. You shook your head.
"I know you wouldn't do that, Bren." You smiled at him and he returned it. You rested your head on his shoulder and he went to pick up his laptop. You grabbed his arm to stop him and he sighed.

"Please... I just want to see what they're saying about you." Brendon pined.
"You'll just get more upset." You spoke slowly and he nodded his head.
"Yeah, of course, sorry." Brendon sniffed and you could tell he was crying again.
"Oh, honey, please don't cry." You hugged him once more. He started bawling onto your shoulder again and by the sound of his cries, you could tell he was really hurting. It was rare for Brendon to cry, and you had only seen him shed a tear once or twice. He grabbed onto the back of your shirt slightly and placed his head in the crook of your neck.

"A-are you sure you believe me? Am- Am I a bad boyfriend?" Brendon shook in your arms, still crying.
"Of course I believe you! I love you!" You pulled him off of you and kissed him. "You're not a bad boyfriend at all." You said as Brendon stared at the floor, tears rolling down his cheeks, snivelling quietly. "I wouldn't lie to you, Brendon, I promise you. You're the best boyfriend in the world and you don't deserve any of this." You cupped his face with your hand and he sniffed, burying his face into it.

"I'm sorry." Brendon hiccuped once he had calmed down and stopped crying.
"Don't be sorry, babe. We all need to cry every once in a while." You smiled at him and used both thumbs to wipe his tears away. Brendon looked at you, your eyes meeting his bloodshot, watery ones and smiled. He leant forward and pressed his lips against yours.
"Thank you. For believing me." He muttered against your mouth.
"S'okay." You whispered and could feel your heart fluttering.

"Now come on, let's go to bed. You must be exhausted." You pulled away and grabbed Brendon's hand.
"I am." He giggled, his eyes beginning to droop. He followed you into your bedroom and laid down next to you, snuggling closer. "I love you." Brendon whispered in your ear and you smiled. "The articles don't matter. All that matters is that you believe me." He kissed the top of your head and you soon fell asleep.
