You were stood in the queue waiting to meet your favourite band. After many years of liking them, you had saved up enough of your own money to buy a meet and greet ticket. The queue grew shorter by the minute and you could see Brendon and the others, smiling as they met people. You saw girls running back from their meet and greets with tears streaming down their faces, sobbing. You turned back around and there were only two people separating you and your favourite band.
'Oh god.' You thought to yourself as you felt a queasy feeling in your stomach. Your heart pounded heavily in your chest and you found yourself short of breath. Finally, it was your turn.
"Hi!" Brendon grinned as you walked towards him. "Are you okay?" He asked and the others looked over."I-I-I'm. O-okay." You said, although it felt like your knees would give way at any moment. You reached out to hug Brendon and he gladly hugged you. You trembled in his arms and by the time he had pulled away, he saw the tears. It felt like the whole room around you was moving and you felt nauseous and numb. "Sorry- sorry." You hyperventilated and stumbled backwards. Brendon caught you and steadied you.
"Don't apologise! It's okay." He smiled at you and then furrowed his eyebrows in deep concern. It felt like your heart was about to burst out of your chest. "You need to sit down." Brendon grabbed a chair and walked a while away from the meet and greet area. He grabbed you one of his bottles of water and handed it to you and you continued crying, realising you had completely messed everything up.
Brendon crouched in front of you and held your hand. "Hey, It's okay! I know how overwhelmed you must be right now." He patted your hand. "Once you've calmed down, come back to the front of the queue and you can meet us all again." Brendon smiled up at you. "Deep breaths." He said calmly and you started to slow your breathing down. "Have you had a panic attack before?" He asked and you nodded your head quickly. Brendon turned round quickly to see that the rest of the band were waiting for him to do the next meet and greet. "When I get them, I try and spot different things I can see, hear, and smell." He smiled warmly at me. "I know I'm no help but I hope you enjoy the show and I'll see you in a bit!" Brendon handed me a box of tissues and left me.
I didn't go back to the front of the queue, I couldn't deal with that humiliation.
Brendon's pov
She didn't come back.
"It's only one girl, it's fine." Kenny sat on the sofa, playing some video game.
"But I'm worried about her-" I started.
"Loads of people have panic attacks, she'll be fine." grabbed a handful of snacks from a packet and continued playing his game.
"I'll find her and tell her to come back tomorrow." I said triumphantly."The show ended half an hour ago." Dallon said softly to me, breaking the news gently. I nodded my head.
"Yeah, I know... I'll just see if she's around." I splashed water in my face and dried my sweaty hair slightly, throwing a t-shirt back on after spraying a shit ton of deodorant on myself. I said goodbye to the boys and ran out of our room, creeping into the entrance to the concert venue. A few people stopped to take a picture with me but luckily most fans had gone home.I saw her with her back turned to me, her hand holding a phone to her ear.
"No, I-I didn't meet them... I'm sorry mum, I know how expensive those tickets were." The girl sniffed and I could tell her mum was getting frustrated. "It's fine, I'll pay you back, I have the money. Bye." She hung up and turned round. Her eyes widened and she jumped instinctively."Hey." I smiled at her and she looked like she was panicking again. "You didn't come see us again." I frowned and she shook her head.
"N-no, I'm sorry, I didn't w-want to waste your time." The girl messed around with her hands and I was shocked at her words.
"Waste my time? You wouldn't have wasted my time." I smiled at her and her lip started trembling.
"S-sorry." The girl apologised."Do you want to come and meet us now? We're a bit sweaty but other than that, we're all nice!" I exclaimed but to my surprise, the girl shook her head.
"I-I... Sorry. I'm too awkward." She laughed slightly to herself and I frowned.
"You're not. You're having a conversation with me now." I insisted.
"Barely." The girl's eyes welled up again. "Why did you come and find me?"
"Because I wanted to make sure you were okay." I smiled and spotted an empty room. "Want to talk?" I asked and she nodded her head and we both walked into the room and sat down on two chairs. We sat in silence for a while and I watched the girl fiddle with her hands. "Is anybody taking you home?" I asked and she shrugged her shoulders.
"I'll get a taxi." The girl replied.
"Not at this time of night!" I worried. "I could take you home." The girl looked panicked. "No, no, not like that." I laughed and she chuckled as well.We drove for half an hour before we reached her road.
"Just here'll be fine." The girl smiled at me. "T-thank you. I'm glad you came to find me." She undid her seatbelt."Me too." I blushed. "Feel free to come to the show tomorrow. Same place, same time." I grinned at her and she smiled slightly. "I'll tell Zack."
"Thanks." The girl blushed as well and before I knew it, I leant in. Our lips pressed together and the girl pulled away in surprise. "I-"
"God. I'm so sorry." I panicked. "Please don't tell anybody that happened, I'm such an idiot." I felt my eyes begin to well up with tears but a kiss was planted to my cheek.
"Don't worry." She smiled and got out the car.•
