"You should meet our neighbors." The girl's aunt says.
"I should?" She asks.
"Well, you actually have no say in this. Please go outside and meet people." The girl looks at her aunt and huffs. "Go on."
The girl walks out of her new kitchen to her new dining room. The girl takes her jacket off the back of a dining chair. The girl puts her earbuds in her ears and presses play on her phone. She exits her house, closing her front door. She stands there, on the first step, looking around. She notices that all the houses look exactly the same. As the girl scans over the houses, one of the houses stands out.
The girl doesn't know what about this house stands out, it just does to her.
The girl leaves her property, stepping to the rhythm of Led Zeppelin. She passes houses, but not going up to any, doing the opposite of what her aunt told her to do. She walks to the end of her street the walks to the other side. She goes back down that side and stops at the house with an off-putting atmosphere.
She looks at the house. Nothing really screams out that something is different. It just seems... kinda quiet. Kind of... peaceful. Really tranquil, to the girl. The girl doesn't know why, but she really wants to meet her neighbor. Especially whoever lives in the tranquil house.
As she picks up her foot to start walking, someone taps her on the shoulder.
"Um, hi?" The girl turns around and faces another girl. "You're new here? Just moved in?" The girl nods her head. "Yeah, I heard about you. The teachers said you were coming, but we didn't know when. You're lucky, though, today was the last day of school. You get the whole summer to mess around. Fun, huh? Anyway, I'm Maia. I guess I'll be your tour guide."
"Thanks." The girl says as she looks at the house with the off-putting feeling.
