Main Theme: Not all stories have a happy ending, and this one certainly won't. Reema's story is about survival at any and all costs, consequences be damned. The theme here is we have to make the best out of what we've got and learn to be happy with it, regardless of what other people think or believe.
Summary: Greed, envy, and lust caused the world to finally tip over the edge of the cliff it had precariously hung on and to fall head-over-heels into complete and utter insanity. In the year 2301, the U.S. of before is but only a distant memory to some and a total myth to others. Those that survived the mayhem either went into hiding or banded together to make small communities for safety and reassurance that they were not alone in their struggles.
That, in turn, caused the people to devolve. Most of them embraced their madness wholeheartedly while others linked their humanities to a living tether. Reema Farrah Omar is someone who fell into the second category while her parents fell into the first one. As soon as Reema grew older and realized the wrongness of the situation and her community, she took her younger sister and escaped the only shelter of safety they had ever known.
In the years that followed, Reema only cared about surviving their day-to-day struggles and had no patience or the will to save others, let alone the world. However, whether she liked it or not, fate had other plans for her and her sister. In order to survive, she had to become someone she never thought she would be and was thrust head-first into situations that were impossible to withstand. The only thought that kept her going was: for our survival.
