Another stutter had started. But this time I wouldn't be frozen. I decided to not go to the party and stay in the laboratory instead. I was not a party person. At least, not with a party this big, and so full of hypocrites with money on their pockets. The stutterproof gear was sort of heavy, lucky for me, I got the new, smaller versión that Sofia and I had created. It was like a belt. But it was working. Just as I walked out of my office, the one beside Sofia's Amaral, I saw many guards standing still, looking like they were running, chasing someone. Who could it be? Or What could it be? Didn't seem to matter that much. I just kept researching on my own stuff. My job was to create better, and smaller stutterproof gear for Monarch. Since right now they were just a big, metal thing on you back. I could Improve it. I had to. For Paul. My goals was to be able to fit stutterproof techonolgy in a clock or any other accesory. It was a work in progress.

I left Riverport because someone had tried to take away my dad's research. Seems like my dad was into something big. Without him, the stutterproof gear would've been imposible to create. My dad had created a device that allows chronon particles to act as a field around a small area, enough for a person to fit. The particles keep moving, even when everything else is not. However, William Joyce's work, well... he had outclassed my dad in every single area, but without my dad's part of the map, stutterproof technology would still be an ilusion. With the help of Sofia Amaral, I created the Stutterproof Techonology. I studied physics to keep the legacy of my parents alive. They were heroes. Their research would save us. Paul came to me at the worst moment of my life and saved me, so now I'm giving back. We never talked about Jack, though. The first time he mentioned it... I was still hurt. All I left him was a crappy letter because I was afraid someone would hurt him.

My mind stopped its drifting when I Heard explosions coming from below. The Juggernaut was ready, but, why the hell are they shooting here? The need for leaving my office grew to the point where I ran all the way down, just to find the juggernaut beaten, stopped still. Could that be a Shifter? I got scared. I had no weapons to fight them, and I didn't have an armor like the juggernaut. Just this ugly yellow suit. I had to go back. The offices where the most important thing on the second floor. They held all of Sofia's and Mine information about the particles and the future projects of Monarch. I couldn't let anyone take them. Sofia had another one of those new stutterproof belt like things on his office, I had to protect it. I took a random weapon from the floor and made my way back, just to find someone, a familiar figure walking into Amaral's office. I didn't hesitate, I shot before I lost sight of him

"Get out of the office with your hands in the air!" I yelled. My hands firmly grabbing the weapon which now I now, was a lighy submachine gun. Kinda heavy, though.

Nothing happened. At least, not for the first few seconds. Nex thing I know, I'm standing on the floor... Jack's about to hit me. I take a few hits before before kicking away. I cannot do this. I cannot look at him.

"Give me the stutterproof device" I ordered, poiting at him with the gun. He looks at me like he knows me. I know he knows... and it's sad that I can't do this for more than five seconds. "Give me the device, Jack". The first time I say his name, like fire on my throat and in my mouth. It hurts my chest. "I don't wanna hurt you".

His serious, angry expression seems to change to that of a surprised expression, like he's just realised something.

"Wait... J-Jeremy? Is it... is it really you?" Jack sounds as surprised as he looks, completely petrified.

"Who else would I be?" I try to answer sarcastically, like the evil mastermind I was years ago. But I wasn't that person anymore. Still, I could try. "I see you're still getting in trouble".

"Wh-Why are you here? Where were you all these years? Why did you left?" So many questions coming out of his mouth. One after the other and every Word sounded more frustrated than the other.
