Jess' POV
I was sleeping for what felt was two hours until I heard a knock at the door. I look at the clock and realize it had only been 10 minutes. Wtf?? I get up, put my robe on, and open the door. There is Matt, standing there, leaning against the door, with tears in his eyes.
"I promise you I didn't say anything. I don't want you to think of me like that." He said.
I just stood there staring at him.
"Jess, the guys don't know anything, trust me. They just say stupid shit like that to be annoying. They think it's gonna get to one of us cause they don't know it's actually a thing." He says choking up on his words.
"Is it actually a thing Matt? Because you clearly thought it was a joke too." I said with annoyance in my voice. I start to walk off and Matt grabs my arm.
"Jess, I promise you. I would never hurt you like that. I would never hurt you period. I care about you. So yes it is a thing and hopefully can be much more than just a thing." He says.
His words took me by surprise. It was all moving fast but I kinda liked it. I stared deep into his eyes. He stared into mine. It wasn't an awkward stare, it was one filled with care.
I decided to give Matt one more chance. He better not screw it up.
