I spread the extra layer of cheese on the onions mounted on various other vegetables and neatly sandwich them between the bread on top. I add extra pieces of meat on my plate. Mrs. Pancakes calls out from the hall, "Ladies, We're leaving. Take care of yourselves."

"Bye!" I yell from the kitchen.

"Goodbye, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson!" Kyra calls out from the TV room. I smile with a proud satisfaction of how delicious the sandwiches looked with the corn and cheese oozing out.

"Come on, Lillian. It's starting!" Kyra calls out before I scoot over to her side on the couch in front of the TV with two plates of sandwiches in my hand.

"Where's Accalia?" Dad asks, walking towards the door with a travel bag on either side.

"She went to Valerie's. For homework." I answer quickly. Of course, it wasn't the complete truth but Accalia asked me to cover for her even though I hadn't approved of her going for a sleepover especially without her parent's consent.

"Valerie? Hmm," He mumbles with a hint of disapproval. "Alright. Be safe, kids. We'll be back soon. Don't let the Claw Monster bite!" Kyra laughs and I roll my eyes as the sound of the door locking is heard. The introduction of the movie just starts to play on the flat screen. A weird excitement rushes through me for having a day out with an actual best friend even though I knew, this world had weirdly changed their roles and she isn't whom she should be.

It's killing me inside to try to find out what the hell is happening but at the same time, part of me is too tired and wants to just suck it up and let all of this be; Pretend that everything's alright. I'd never had a best friend. Of course, I wouldn't. I mean just look at me. I was the Cheer leader bitch. I always felt my life itself could be made into a movie and be called Mean Girls 3. At least another Oscar award would come home.

And now, the girl whom I kicked out of my cheer team is now my best friend.

I watch as she uncovers the bread on top, peeks into the contents before giving me a clearly dramatic stare. She one by one starts to pick out the layers of onions onto the plate with a hint of disgust etched on her face and I just stare, dumbfounded. "Wha-"

"Gosh, Lillian. I hate you.You know I hate onions!" She sighs. Seriously, who hates onions? "Nice try." She laughs and playfully hits lightly in my arm, before taking a bite of the sandwich. I hold back a wince as her eyes widen in concern.

"Oh, shit. Are you okay?" She asks me.

"Yeah, yeah. It's not too bad," I answer, giving her a reassuring smile. Jordan really did some great damage since my arm is taking an eternity to heal. What had happened to her?

"Okay. That girl really did some great job, didn't she? I'm glad she's dead," She spits. My heart drops at the sound of it and she seemed to catch it as she looks back up at me.

"Gosh, I'm sorry, Lillian. I didn't mean to say it like that nor bring it up," she apologizes, her eyes softening.

"No... It's fine. I get it," I nod, understandingly.

"This sandwich is good, by the way."

We fall into silence, deeply engrossed into the movie of animated wandering zoo animals. She laughs occasionally when some funny scene comes up and I just smile to look attentive but my mind soon travels somewhere else. Who could've cast this kind of strong spell? And why is it that only I know about this? Is there any chance there's anyone else like me?

Suddenly my neck snaps toward the window when I thought I felt some presence. I look over to the door and force down the sudden urge to stand up and just peek outside, sure that I'm not just being paranoid.

My thoughts are interrupted by Kyra and I turn my attention to her. "Lillian, I know you're thinking about today. It's over, so just try chilling out now, okay?" With a giggle she adds,"I'm just happy you're here. I mean, who else would watch Madagascar with me, huh?"

I ignore it and stand up, an expression of confusion looking up at me.

I pad towards the door and whisper, "I think there's someone here. Stay there."

"Then don't go, Lillian!" She whispers back with wide eyes but I ignore it again, opening the door and stepping outside into the cold night. I feel a pang of warmth for her concern. I actually felt bad for kicking out from my cheer team. I step into the patio, searching for any sign of the intruder, my vision allowing me to see better in darkness. I wonder if someone other than Jordan is after me.

A moment of silence passes by with no sign of the intruder. Crickets chirp and the wind howls loudly into the eerie night as if telling me to go away but I stand still, patiently listening.

Nothing. A slight peculiar rustle cracks from a few feet away and I knew right away it wasn't just any animal.

It was a werewolf.
