Chapter 2: Discovery

Sorry it's taken me so long to update! I've been super busy! I hope you enjoy the chapter!

"Hi mom!" I yelled when Kya and I entered my house. "We're home!"

"Hello darling. How was school today?" My mother asked.

"It was great! Anyways, we are going to go do homework in my room so we will see you later. Love you!" I said.

"Okay sweetheart. Love you too. If you need anything let me know!" My mother told us sweetly.

"I love your mom." Kya told me as we started walking up the stairs to my room. "She is the sweetest human being!"

"Ouch."

"I'm kidding! You know I love you!" Kya came running attempting to hug me.

"Suuuuuure" I laughed while hugging her back.

"Anyways, tell me about your date!" Kya jokingly pressured.

"Fine...I guess I'll tell you." I said slowly while walking towards my bed. I sat down on my bed, unzipped my backpack, and started my homework while Kya stared at me.

"Oh my gosh stop stalling!"

Kya came over and playfully shook my shoulders. "Tell me!!!!"

"Geeze! I was going to tell you eventually." I laughed. "My date was great! Johnathan is so sweet. He held my hand in the dark movie theatre and when he dropped me off on my front porch, he kissed my cheek!"

"OMG!!!!" Kya squealed.

"Kya calm down, it was just a date!" I joked.

"Okay okay!"

"Moving on, how was your night last night?" I asked.

"It was good. All I did was watch Netflix. It was super uneventful." Kya laughed.

"What about your homework?"

"Homework? I have no idea what this 'homework' is you are talking about." Kya stated sarcastically.

"Kya!" I yelled as I playfully slapped her on the arm.

"Serena!" Kya yelled back, mimicking my movements.

"You are unbelievable!" I said while quietly giggling to myself.

"Guess what!! I had this crazy dream last night that I was a flying superhero! I was all like 'I'll save you', but then I got ice cream instead." Kya said in a serious tone.

Two seconds later, we both burst out laughing.

After Kya and I both calmed down I remembered my dream from last night.

"I had a crazy dream too! I had telepathic powers and could move things with my mind!"

"Dude we should totally try them out!" And with that, our homework was forgotten as we leapt off my bed onto my bedroom floor.

Kya went first. She leaped onto my bed and prepared for take-off. She threw her arms and body into a superhero stance and jumped from my blue queen size bed. Two seconds later, Kya was sprawled out on my hardwood bedroom floor pouting while I fell onto my bedroom floor laughing.

"Hey! That's not funny... I really wanted to fly!!!"

"I....know....Kya" I attempted to say in between laughing fits.

Eventually Kya started to laugh with me. "Okay you're turn Serena. I want a good laugh too!"

I agreed and sat on my bed. "What would you like me to move?" I asked while giggling.

"I want you to move your dance trophy from your beige shelf to your wooden dresser!!" Kya told my whole giggling to herself.

After, I stared at my trophy, pictured it levitating, flicked my hand and said, "abrah cadabrah!"

I looked away and started laughing. My laughter quieted moments later when I realized that Kya wasn't laughing, she was staring at the trophy.

"Kya, what's wro-" I started to ask my best friend while turning around to look at my trophy. I didn't know what to say when I saw what was happening.

"Kya..." I slowly stated. "it's floating..."
