Story of How This Song Came to Be: So basically, when Rebecca Sugar was younger she lost a stuff animal of hers in her garden. After sometime, she finally found it again, but the top side was brown or just darker due to extreme exposure to sunlight. But when she turned it over, it looked the same as when she lost it.
She basically says it signifies that you can't prevent change no matter what, but something always remains too.
