*Mystica's POV*

I arrived back at my house around noon. The door to the house was shut, and being exhausted, hungry, and weak from blood loss, I didn't have the strength or energy to open it. I slumped to the ground trying hard not to cry. I lost the fight, and ended up crying and sobbing until my ribs felt like they were breaking and my lungs couldn't take in air. The fact that I was going to die here on my back porch from blood loss because I was too weak to open the door was heartbreaking and maddening. I felt my stomach clench and worried that I might puke.

Normally that wouldn't be a huge problem, just not preferred, but in my weakened state it would use energy I didn't have. Instead of throwing up food I didn't eat, I started to feel a change throughout my whole body. Bile was crawling up my throat to the back of my mouth, and my ribs shifted. Pain like I've never felt before filled my head and all of a sudden, my body felt really hot. The pain forced me to my hands and knees and wouldn't relent, my thoughts became shorter, more panicked, and strange.

My skin all of a sudden felt like it didn't belong to me, something was trying to push through it. I tried to scream but it came out sounding more like a strangled cat. When the pain receded and I looked down at my hands, they weren't there. In their place were a pair or large black cat paws. Panicked, I spun around and caught sight of a long tail that matched the same color of the paws.

The place on my shoulder where I had recently gotten bit was still there and throbbing, but it was smaller somehow. I felt stronger and like a complete bad ass. I tried getting to my feet but I was forced back down. I no longer could deny myself the fact that I was no longer human. I looked up at the door that had previously stopped me from getting in, and butted it gently with my head. To my surprise, it opened and instead of feeling happy or safe, I felt curious of what was inside. I cautiously stepped over the threshold sniffing the air for danger. I guess a part of my human brain was still there because I could still think like before, but now I had an animal body and instincts to go with it.

Nobody was home. The house was dark like nobody had lived here in years, even though my family was here just yesterday. I padded my way to my room, nudging the door open with my head. Sorrow struck me when I saw the scene that was laid in front of me.

My posters that had been covering my walls over my bed had been torn down, my pictures on my desk had been smashed, yet my bed had been made, as if with loving care. I slowly made my way to my closet, surprised to see the door open. All my clothes that I had hung up with love had been thrown on the floor and halfway across the room. The hangers were gone, and there was a word written on the back wall of the closet in black paint that had dripped down.

Bye.

The resulting effect made the letters look like they were crying. Jesus, my mom sure knows how to exaggerate. I'm gone one day, and she acts like its been two years. I wonder were the hell she is. I left my bedroom and was about to explore her bedroom when my shoulder burned as if touched by acid and quickly decided to go to the bathroom instead.

When I reached my mother's bathroom, I immediately realized I couldn't get the materials I needed for my shoulder in this cat form. I cursed, but it came out as more of a growl and hiss, not knowing how to change back. I looked up for ideas and saw one violet and one blue eye stuck in the head of a black tiger staring back at me in the mirror.
