Once upon a time. The start of every children’s fairytale or bedtime story. Simple words but they bring you in a distant world of new believing, old traditions, different stories. Simple words but they hold a power more strong than anything you have ever seen.
With what does this story differ from the other ones. Well, nothing. It starts just like the fairytales we know from our childhood.
There lived a family in the northern fields of Falerii. It was a city not well known but still beautiful. That same family, as I mentioned above, had two beautiful children. A boy and A girl. The boy was known for his charming good looks. He glowed everywhere he went. The girl was known for her kindness and her wise mind. She would sit all day at the small front porch and consume herself in books.
The children’s family did not have a lot of money. In fact they barely lived through the day with what they earned. Still they never complained and always thanked God that they had food on their table even if it wasn’t as much as it was on every other table in their small town. As long as they were together they were happy.
But their happiness did not last long. The father of the two young children became very sick and after a few days he passed away. The children were both 10 at that time and their mother didn’t know what to do. She did not know in which direction she was supposed to go. So she went to the town’s mayor, a huge man with a chubby face, to ask him for help. Unfortunately he was too selfish to even give away one small sickle to anyone but himself.
The old woman went home miserable and sad. She thought of what her small beloved children were to become. Her heart was tearing in pieces at the thought of them being unhealthy and sad. She did not see any other option but to take the children to the woods and leave them there. The family could barely make it through the day when they had their father with them and now? Now they were even more doomed than before.
The same night the woman got out of bed in the middle of the night and went to the small nursery that the children slept in. She stood by their beds for what seemed like hours but where only few minutes. She wanted to remember their faces, their smell, how they were dressed, everything. Once she thought she was ready she gently woke them up.
“Sweethearts, get dressed. We are going someplace special.”
“Where are we going mommy?” asked the boy. At the sound of his sweet musical voice their mother almost broke down in tears. The little girl saw that her mother was sad and she put a reassuring hand on her shoulder. All three went out of the small house and headed for the black forest. The children kept sneaking glances at their mother because they were scared of the forest and it’s creatures and because they were too confused.
Once they neared a small meadow in the middle of the forest the mother pulled her children so they were standing in front of her.
“Stay here. I will go chop some woods for fire and be right back. Just stay here.” The children began to protest but it was no use. The mother pretended that she did not hear them and went on her way home. The two siblings took each other by the hand and hugged themselves to protect their small and fragile bodies from the cold.
They sat on the frozen ground and cried silently. Then a figure moved and showed its’ face in the moonlight. It was an old lady. She had a tight grip on her walking stick and in her other hand was a small basked probably filled with fruit and nuts.
“And what are you two children doing here all alone?” she asked them. Her voice was rough but sweet and kind.
“We were left here by our mother. She said she would go chop some wood for us.” Answered the boy and the girl finished his small tale.
“But she never came back” tear began to flow down their faces again.
“Well then I guess you have to just become a part of the Children of the Nature.” Replied with a hopeful voice the old woman.
“Children of the Nature? What is that?” asked the boy, half terrified of the answer and half curious.
“Protectors of the water, wind, trees and everything else that you can find in a forest. The children live here and can only be seen by other Children of the Nature. And of course, every child has a engraved ability that they are born with. We’ll just have to find out what yours is, won’t we?”
A bright red light eliminated the forest grounds. It was so bright that nothing could be seen. After a few moments the forest came to its natural order again. Well except for the kids.

VampireIt's not a story. This is a book about my ideas. Whenever I have an idea for a book I will write it here and I will hope that someone will tell me which one(s) to create into full books.
