The ex-Soviet nations gathered in the basement of their shared house. Belarus stood at the head of the table, addressing the rest of the assembled group.
"You all know why we're here, right?" she addressed. Belarus received several nods, so she went on with the meeting. "Just to make sure you all are fully briefed, it has come to our attention that Big Brother Russia has gone missing, and we are almost certain that we know where he's being held."
Latvia's head shot up, now more alert. "Are you trying to say that someone kidnapped him?" Belarus nodded.
"But who would be strong enough to do such a thing?" Ukraine asked, leaning more into the table with every word.
"We are believing that it was the USA, and that's how he was allowed to go for so long without having been noticed or-"
"Wait, wait," Lithuania cut in. "You are saying that Mr. America took Mr. Russia? I don't think that that would have happened. At least not against his will. Mr. America isn't that type of country."
"But even if he was, those two are in a rather blossoming relationship, are they not? America wouldn't manipulate someone in that way," Estonia added.
"Yeah, and how do we know that you aren't just vengeful towards him for taking Mr. Russia's attention away from you?" Latvia scoffed, leaning back in his chair and folding his arms across his chest.
The air around Natalia seemed to grow darker as the comments kept rolling in. "That is enough!" she growled, slamming both of her hands onto the table in front of her. "This has nothing to do with me or my personal affairs! We could be facing a true problem! And on top of all of this, America was just seen yesterday at another meeting pointing a gun at Britain's head and threatening everyone in a room full of countries, and no one did a thing about it! He is being allowed too much power, and we need to come together to protect Russia!"
"I wish I could help you, Bela, but I just can't. My country is getting too much aid from Mr. America to just accuse him of something as serious as that." Ukraine stood and made to leave.
"And I don't think that I could bring myself to endanger my country like that. America is a world power; there's just too much risk involved right now." All three of the Baltic states followed the woman out, leaving only Belarus in the room.
"I'll help you look for Big Brother Russia," a small voice quietly offered from the back corner of the room. Natalia turned, eyes wide and hopeful.
Moldova stood from where he was curled against the wall. His ragged-edged coat hung off of his small, thin frame, and his fangs glinted in the mediocre light. "I-I know I can't do much, since I'm so small, but I can help a little."
Belarus stared at the small boy, slightly disbelieving. He was the only one to offer to help her. She knew that she couldn't do it by herself, and any help would be essential to her plight.
"Thank you."
*note that I only included the countries that were officially included in the USSR, and not the countries that were forcefully taken into the union. theyre different I think
