There are some things in this world mankind shouldn't tamper with. But even being the Arouran leaders daughter; nobody ever listens to me. That's how we got in this mess. And, only I can stop it. My name is Grace Lydon, and I'm 18 years old. It's funny, how everyone relies on an 18 year old in daily life. Ever since my father disappeared, I've been in charge here. However, they have not found their body, so I'm not the official leader.
Today was strange; everyone was quiet, people actually smiled at me for once when I passed by, and it wasn't raining. Strangest of all, my best friend Peter hadn't shown up for our morning walk. Peter had always been my best friend since we were kids, and had always been there for me. He's a tall, brunette boy with a pair of glimmering green eyes; and an amazing sense of humour. I, however, was a medium sized teen with black hair and blue eyes, and a terrible, terrible sense of humour. (Oh, and by the way, I have wings.) I saw a strange light flickering from Peters cabin, which wasn't normal. So I spread my wings, and flew into his cabin door gracefully. But, nobody was there. All there was, was an oak table in the middle of the room, with a singular candle in the middle. Something scared me, the sound of rustling coming from a dark room, (bearing in mind, I thought I was alone at the time.) and it startled me so much I withdrew my small dagger from my pocket in defence. The sound got louder and louder as I got closer.
What was waiting for me? Who was waiting for me?
