"Maddie, Maddie, wake up class has finished!" I shake her arm to wake her up from her sleep, I cross my arms as she lifts her head and looks at me.

"This is the Fourth time you have fell asleep in class, if you fall asleep again I'm just going to have to prank you," I laugh and turn around to walk back to my desk

"I know and I'm sorry, I don't get a lot of sleep at home and with the final exams coming up, I don't think I'm ready Mr Grayson." Maddie wipes the tears from her eyes

"Maddie its ok, it's just to see where you are up to since the beginning of the year. You have improved a lot so I know you will do well, don't stress I can always help you if you need." I give Maddie a hug

"Do you have a way to get home?" I asked

"I have to walk," she replies in a sad tone of voice

"It's raining so I can drive you home if you like?" I walk back over to my desk and pack every up and make it neat

"Yes please." She smiles

We both walk out to the car park and over to my car. I don't usually take students home but Maddie lives on the other side of the town with no way of getting there but walking. Maddie has gone through a lot so I'm showing her that there are people around to help. I park out the front of her house.

"Thank you Mr Grayson," she says cheerfully as she gets out of the car, I wait for her to go inside before I drive off back to my house. Before I drive off I hear a faint scream coming from inside. I turn the car off and walk up the front door, knocking I hear another scream coming from inside.

"Maddie!" I yell as I open the front door "Are you ok? Where are you?"

I walk into the dark lounge room, lights off, curtains closed. As I enter the room there was a smell, a smell I haven't smelt before. I walk further into the room, I look over to my right to see a human like figure laying on the floor still. Moving my body closer to them, head starts thumping, breathing gets faster and heavier. I close my eyes wishing for it to stop, my body starts to feel weak as I continue to move closer. It's like a force is stopping me.

"Maddie! Is that you laying there?" I kneel down next to her, no movement, no nothing. I look at her as if something is going to happen. Her skin is getting cold, skin turning a pale.
