It took about 5 minutes for Dave to realize that he was walking in the wrong direction. Scolding himself, he turned around and walked by the trees and shrubs we had passed only moments before.

Now that he was holding me, I could smell the stench of sweat on him. His worn pants and ripped shirt hadn't been washed in, what seemed like, the last century. I looked at his unshaven face and his evil-looking grey eyes, until he simply dropped me on the ground.

"We're here," he muttered grumpily. I landed on my back with a thud. Standing up hastily, I came face to face with a man's legs. I looked up and looked at the giant's face.

"Michaelo!" shouted Dave as he saw him.

"Dave," said Michaelo, clearly not mirroring his excitement. "Is this the pup you were talking about?"

"Matter of fact it is," said Dave, smiling proudly.

"Well, I gotta say, he looks a bit weak for my liking. Would you like to come inside and see my pups?"

"Heck yeah!" shouted Dave, as he followed him into the abandoned factory.

Dave's jaw dropped as he entered the factory. There were training devices everywhere, along with kennels that contained at least 20 dogs altogether.

"Is this where you'll train my boy?" asked Dave.

"No. He'll be trained on Mars," retorted Michaelo, rolling his eyes.

Dave looked down, clearly embarrassed.

"So... Will he be staying here, with your dogs, or is he coming back home with me?"

Michaelo places his hands in his pockets and stares at the sky for a few seconds.

"He can stay. I've trained so many dogs; some were successful fighters, some were embarrassments to me and my crew. For some reason, I think your pup will be a champion. All champions stay with me so we can train them to be the best fighters possible."

A full-toothed grin spread over Dave's ugly face. Now I could see how terrible his teeth were; they stuck out in all directions imaginable.

Dave picked me up again and handed me to Michaelo. I squirmed under his hard grip.

"Take care of him," Dave muttered quietly. Michaelo grinned an evil smile. I sure did not like the smirk on his face.
