I pounced off my platform and rolled in the snow. I didn't bother looking to see how the other tributes had made it on the snow. Surprisingly, the snow was about half a foot deep. I didn't want to risk being stuck in a foot of snow in the beginning. So, I jumped as far as I could. I kept jumping over the snow and I ended up being the first one to the cornucopia. There was concrete going around the cornucopia and it had no snow. I guess the game makers wanted to be able to pick up any of the body's. I saw five sets of throwing knives and ran to them. As soon as I picked them up, Kevin arrived at the cornucopia. He scared me and I got a knife ready, but remembered he's my ally. I spotted Andrew running into the woods. I pretended like I was going to kill him and threw a knife at a tree right next to him. He looked back and mouthed the words, "Thank you," and ran deeper in the woods. I went to go grab a sword in case I needed it. The first one I picked up was really light and was easy to swing. By this time everyone is stepping out of the snow and onto the concrete.

"Ready to die?" I heard a girl say. I looked in the direction I heard it from. Amy, from district 6, an ally, someone I cared for, had a spear resting at her chest. Allison, district 7, one of Andrew's allies, was standing above Amy, taunting her. Allison lifted the spear, I looked away, and heard screaming. I heard her laughing and I turned around ready with a knife and threw it into her neck. "Wholly sh-" and she dropped dead.

"Nice kill," I heard someone else say. I turned around to find Brian smiling at me. I saw Riker running towards the woods behind him and was about to throw a knife until he threw everything he was carrying and himself into the snow to dodge my soon to come knife. I decided not to throw it and gather anything I could before my allies did. I heard two more screams from inside the cornucopia. I saw Bryce in there with a bloody sword and a body at his feet. I looked behind him and saw Kevin, holding a bow and giving Bryce a high-five. I looked around and only found my allies at the cornucopia. Well, except for Allison's lifeless body.

"We've conquered the cornucopia!" I heard someone say from on top of the conucopia. It was Sally. "We are the best!" and she laughed. I couldn't help it, but I smiled.

"Get down before it's just us who are the smartest!" I heard Brian yell at Sally and then laugh along with everyone else except me.

"Is everyone here?" Bryce asked.

"Yeah. Even Amy," Lindsey said and she laughed. I stared at her coldly and she stopped laughing.

"Alright. Should we make camp here?" Bryce asked me.

At first I thought he was asking everyone else until I noticed him looking at me. "Yeah. Sure. We can't really make it through the snow because Riker made off with all our snow shoes," I said.

"Okay. Someone needs to go get fire wood," Bryce said.

"I'll go do it!" Sally said coming around the cornucopia.

"I'll go, too," Lindsey said.

"We should probably find a tarp and put it over the entrance of the cornucopia," Kevin butt in. "I'll look for the tarp."

"What are you going to do, Anna?" I heard Brian say.

I looked at him and said, "I'll look in the snow for anything the others dropped or anything the game makers left us with. What about you, Brian?" I said mocking him.

He grinned, "I'll look with you." Everyone nodded and headed to their job.

"Just walk around on the concrete and look for lumps in the snow. If you see one, head towards it. If it's just a rock, get it. We might need it. Anything we find is useful," I told him.

"Okay. I'll go this way and you go that way," he said pointing to the left of the cornucopia then to the right. I nodded in agreement and searched the snow. I found footsteps leading away from the cornucopia and decided to step in them in hopes of finding someone to kill. I followed them deep into the woods until there were no more. I looked all around for the continued footsteps. Something dripped on my cheek. I looked up and saw someone or something in the tree. I heard a girl screaming in the distance and looked to where it came from. I started to climb a nearby tree to be safe and get a good look at what was in the tree.
