(Lol the chapter title is a reference to the first chapter of the first book.)

"Alright, we're approaching the island," Katie stated as they drew nearer and nearer to the land. She was about to tell Josh and Michael to start descending when suddenly a hole opened up in the far distance, and three figures came out of it. ". . . Magic?"

"Katelynn! Joshua! Human boy!" One of the figures called out to them.

All three of them recognized that voice.

"Is that . . . Violet?" Katie asked, squinting her eyes at the approaching figures. "And Tessa, I'm assuming. But who's the other person?"

Soon enough the figures approached them. All three of them were fairies-two of them Enchantix and one of them only in the first transformation. Katie's assumptions were found to be correct as they turned out to be Violet, Tessa, and . . . Oh boy . . .

"You?!" Katie screeched at the girl, which earned her a disgusted frown.

"Did you miss me?" Seelia scoffed back.

Josh and Michael exchanged curious glances with each other, as did Violet and Tessa. They didn't know why Katie had bad blood with Seelia or how they even knew each other, plus the guys had absolutely no idea who Seelia even was.

"Why the hell is she here?" Katie asked Violet and Tessa.

"Uh," Tessa hesitated. "You two know each other?"

"She's one of my dorm mates at Alfea," Seelia sighed, as if having Katie around was a heavy burden to her.

"You just dodged my question," Katie said to Tessa impatiently. "Why is she here?"

"Oh . . . She's our little sister," Tessa answered a bit nervously, scratching her head.

Katie gave a cruel and mocking laugh when Tessa's words hit her. "No wonder! Her attitude was passed down from the sick bastard who got one of my aunts to take the life of my parents! You three don't even look like you're related to each other."

Silence.

Seelia's face twisted into a scowl, then her expression transformed into one of utter confusion. "Wait . . . are you talking about . . . my dad?"

Katie was about to launch into a series of shouts and insults when suddenly someone grabbed a firm hold of her arm. Looking behind she saw that it was Josh, who had had quite enough of Katie's boiling temper.

"Hey, don't take our parents' death all out on her," he said to his sister. "That's uncool."

Hearing him was just enough to bring Katie out of her rage. She calmed down and inhaled deeply, then exhaled.

"I'm sorry," she said to Seelia with forced sincerity. But then again, is forced sincerity really sincerity at all? "That was really rude of me."

The girl crossed her arms and shot Katie a lethal glare. "Yes, it was. And I don't think you should ever talk to me like that again."

She then took off in the directions towards the volcano, all the while thinking, Vi and Tess were right. Our father really is responsible for all this, and he really is still alive.
