Chapter Nine: Blind Call

Luca was sitting by himself as Cheryl came up, they sat in  the cafeteria by themselves. "Luca,

can I ask you something?" Cheryl asked.  Luca drank some of his coffee, then  responded  "Fire

away, I'm game."  Cheryl thought as she tried to find a way to explain her question,  she alleged

"I think Sho and Alice might be involved, maybe. But, it's ambiguous" Luca spat out his coffee,

then objected "No, I'm not doing this matchmaking bullshit. Also, I'm not doing this based on

accusations!" Cheryl decided to goad him with a adorable smile, he resisted her with a cold

stare as a response  "I'm not doing it, girlie!" he emphasized. She gave him Luca a return cold

stare as a last resort, but  it was far more intimidating. Luca started to recoil from his cold stare,

he back off of his resolve a little. "Alright, I'll do it...Just, stop staring daggers!" Luca reluctantly

agreed. "Yay!" They decided to follow Sho and Alice on their day off. Luca wore a disguise, while

Cheryl.... did the exact opposite. Luca sighed as Cheryl looked like a sore thumb, they went on

and followed them inconspicuously. Their esper links went off, they hid as Alice turned around.

Luca answered and was reprimanded by Nine , she shout for them to return. They left and

returned to the academia, they walked into the briefing.  Alice and Sho were already there,

Cheryl blurted  to Alice and Sho "I think you two make a good couple!" Both of them gave her a

confused look. Cheryl asked "Aren't you two a couple?" They shook their heads and then sighed

simultaneously . "Dramatics aside... You have work to  do"  Nine announced.  "The group you

infiltrated, The light of Angle-is, their members have been targeting mentia. The leaders,

Florence Umbras and Luis Leonis has denied all  affiliation with those who are attacking and

eliminating mentia. We need you to investigate to see if it's true. " They all saluted and left the

briefing room, Alice and his group drove out of the complex in a standard car that Cheryl drove.

They returned to the previous location they searched, but the building was empty. Luca was

shocked that it was all gone with in a matter of weeks "How the hell do you move that fast, this

is super pile of bullshit!" Luca exclaimed. Alice went down the hill to check the building, he slid

down the hill like he was riding a board. After getting to the bottom, he  checked the whole

building. Everything was gone: banners, decor, offices, pretty much everything.  He was utterly

confused by this revelation, he headed back up the hill and they headed back to the academia

to report this news.  The returned and reported  to nine, she paced around the room as she

thought  about their next move.  An alarm blared in the background, mentia operatives were

being attacked by people in white clothing. Nine shouted and ordered them to go assist them,

they saluted and left. They drove off to  the fray, the group ended up at at public park. The

operatives  were being  injured and ended, they seemed like they couldn't fight at one hundred

percent. Alice felt like Winter Shard was being blocked, he got ready to fight as the people turn

their gaze on to him.  He and his team decided to go hand to hand for this battle, they were

charged at by all of the white robbed people.  Alice dual fought with Sho, they took out all of

them and Luca took one of the people in white robes. They handed him to Nine and Zero after

returning , they walked off and went to tend to their wounds.
