Her father pointed her to take a seat. She took a seat. Her father was a charming man in his late thirties. They share same dark brown hair and tan. But his eyes were grey unlike her. The look that he was giving her right now made her shiver. Her stepmother was sitting just beside him.
"Lauren you again misbehaved with your mother? I'm so disappointed. "
He said while throwing a hard look at her. She whispered silently
"She isn't my mother!"
"Sorry did you say anything?"
"No dad, so why do you want to talk to me? Everything's fine?"
She asked him solemnly though she what the answer was. His father took of his glasses and said
"Well your mother's idea of sending you to Paris, in my opinion is not a bad one. What do you think?"
She glared at her stepmom. She was smiling on being acknowledged. A look at her made her angry.
"I think it's a bad one. I don't want to go anywhere, especially not the place she chose for me."
"She is your mother Lauren, she loves you. She was willing to send you to some other place was to make you enhance your friends circle."
"Oh yes she loves me that much that she burned my hands just to make me call her mom-"
"Don't make the fuss of this matter, it was a minor accident-"
"MINOR ACCIDENT! she burnt my hands dad! "
She said extending her hands towards him. There still were burn marks on her palms and wrists. She was close to tears. Mom are you seeing this? Dad thinks burning of my hands is a minor accident, she thought in her mind. Taking her hands in his he said,
"Lauren please go to the school your mother chose for you. Don't be stubborn. You are overreacting. "
