Her smile was mesmerizing. Her accent was cute. But her big brown eyes captured his attention most. It was almost like they could see right through you. And seeing as she could already sense how Finn was feeling, maybe they could.
"Sorry for the rude introduction. I just... I guess I just want to see if everything's alright." She continued as Finn sat in silence, unsure of what to say.
Well, his name might be a good place to start. "I'm uh... my name's Finn." He managed to get out. He wished he could just talk normally but the whole situation was throwing him off.
"Finn? I like that, it suits you. So what's got you so down Finn?" Millie asked. God she was blunt.
Finn looked back towards the window, thinking about it for a second, thinking about what made him feel this way. But would he confide in a stranger? Looking back at her he noticed her expecting eyes, waiting for his answer.
He'd never really had someone to confide in, so maybe this would help? "I guess I'm just worried about my future. Or, in my case, my lack of one. I don't know what I want to do. Everyone else around me seems to have their life figured out and planned, when I don't even know what I'm going to do tomorrow." Finn confided, looking back towards the window as to not experience any judgement from the girl across from him. "And then there's my brother. He's always been the favorite. Everything's always Nick this and Nick that. My mom always ask why I can't be more like him, and yet when I ask for help, she just ignores me. It's frustrating, you know?" Finn continued. He looked back to the girl, waiting for an answer of any kind.
She stared right into his eyes, making Finn feel as if she was dissecting him. "Well I can't exactly say that I know that feeling. I'm an only child. But I can offer what help is possible. And I say we start by distracting you. It works whenever I'm sad, even if it's temporary." She replied, her accent still in that cheery tone.
Finn had to admit, that did sound like a nice idea. Especially if it meant spending time with her. "Sure, why not. Got anything in mind?" Finn asked. Millie looked up in thought before a smile broke out on her face.
"I know just the place! It's going to be great." She grabbed his hand and dragged him out of the shop. Finn tried to keep up with her as she dragged him along street after street. Millie showed no signs of stopping after they had been running for a while.
"Where are we going?" Finn asked in between breaths as they stopped at a crosswalk. Millie looked back at Finn and gave him a small smirk. "That's for me to know and you to find out." As the light changed for them to walk
Finn thought to himself about what was happening. He was following a stranger he'd never met before to an unknown location all because she said it'd be a good idea.
Finn looked up at Millie again, a smile on her face and eyes looking left and right as she searched for their destination. He decided to himself that things could be worse.
"Finally! This is the place." Millie said, causing Finn to look up from his thoughts to see where they'd arrived.
Hawkins Park
Finn looked at Millie in confusion. "The park? What's so special about this place?" He asked. Millie looked at Finn, eyes filled with excitement and yet another smirk plastered on her face.
"Like I said, that's for me to know and you to find out."
