Your eyes fluttered open as a strange, yet sweet, smell filled your nostrils. Debating whether you should check it out or remain still, a knock on the door caught your attention, and you pretended to be asleep. Peeping on eye open, you watch as Toriel silently waltzed into the room, carrying a object in her hands. Once your eyes adjusted, you saw that the object was a plate with a pie piece that was a reasonable size. She smiled at you, before gently setting the pie on the floor, and walking out.

After a few moments, you slowly awoke and stretched out your aching muscles, pulling the blanket off of you. Wait, when did you even cover up? Did you cover yourself, or did Toriel do it? You shrugged, hopping off the bed and shuffling towards the pie piece.

Picking it up, the sweet aroma of cinnamon and butterscotch grew bigger, it leaving your mouth watering. But, deciding to save it for later, you put it up in your inventory? When did you even get a inventory? More or less, how exactly did you get a inventory? Not that it matters, it actually looks quite useful.

Opening the door, you creeped into the hall, looking right and left. To the right you saw a couple of doors continuing down the hall, and to the left was an open room with a staircase leading downstairs, along with the front door. Off to the side of that room, you caught glimpse of another room, and decided to go explore.

There, Toriel sat with glasses on her head, reading a book about.. snails? "Ah, I see you are awake! Did you have a nice nap? Oh, and did you get my gift I left for you?" She asked, her smile looking gentle and caring. You nodded, before walking closer to her whilst looking around the room. "Mind the mess, my child, for I have not been cleaning yet. My nose has been stuffed in this book about snails. Would you like to join me and my reading?"

*Yes *No

Choosing yes, you stood beside her and began to read along with her, enjoying her warm laughs she gave off when a funny fact appeared. "I have read this boom many of times, and not once has it failed to make me laugh." You smiled, before your mind began to drift to thoughts about your old home. You remembered the way your mom used to read to you every night, her laugh sounding like Toriel's.

"My child, is something wrong? You've been staring at me for quite some time now with a blank expression. Could it be you wish to ask me something?" She asked, blinking slightly. "When can I go home?" You asked, but got worried as Toriel didn't not reply and her happy expression was now a blank one.

"Stay here, I have to do something. No matter what, do not follow me." We said, closing the book about snails and quickly walking out of the room. You stood there for a second, before going after her downstairs.

Every step you took, the stairs creaked back at you. At the bottom, you saw purple- just purple, like the walls of the Ruins. Up ahead, Toriel stood, before she briskly turned her head back towards you. "Go back, and wait in your room. That is an order."

Following her some more, you noticed how her eyes looked glossy every time she'd take a small peek towards you. "My child, there is something you must know. If you do not go back, they.. Asgore.. Will kill you. Do you understand?" She asked, turning to you.

"Up ahead is the door to exit the Ruins. I am going to destroy it. Do not try to stop me. This is your final warning." She said, disappearing around a corner. Ignoring her words, you followed her into a room, the door in sight, standing tall behind her.

She sighed, giving you a pitiful look as she spoke, "My child, please go back upstairs. Up ahead is just more an more danger, I can protect you here. No one will bother us here." Her eyes looked as if she was about to cry any second.

Taking a step forward, your returned the pitiful look to her, causing her the breathe in and out. "Prove to me, then. Prove to me you can make it out of the Ruins, and make it to the-" But she stopped mid-sentence, raising her head high as you entered the battle.

Your heart, or soul, if you'll call it, was around a white box, Toriel standing proudly at the top of it. Using her attacks, you managed to dodge a few and get the tattics, mowing what to do due to previous fights.

As you kept sparing her, her gaze began to soften back down, until her attacks began to dodge you. Finally, her attacks stopped, and her face showed a depressed emotion. "My child, please go back upstairs. We can have a good life here, just me and you."

*Mercy

"We can read each other books by the fireplace."

*Mercy

"We can bake pies together, like a real family."

*Mercy

"We can.." She sighed, giving a small smile. "Your right. It is not good for me to hold you here. I had many expectations and plans for us, but for you, my child, I will push them aside."

As the battle ended, you walked up to her and hugged her, smiling as she squeezed you tight. "Be good, won't you?" She asked, her smile turning into a warm one, and as she turned to walk away, she looked back once, before disappearing in the shadows if the hallway.

Continuing on, you thought back of her, imagining what it would have been like if you stayed. 'No, no,' you thought, 'my family at home misses me very much.' Skidding to a stop, huge, purple doors stood infront of you, and as you pushed through them, you looked back and smiled.
