Pride: A feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from ones own achievements
'And the winner is...'
I puffed my chest, waiting for the judge to call out my name.
'Kiah Lee.'
A huge, broad smile appeared on my face as I walked up to the judge. I sat down on the throne and waited for the judge to ace the crown on my head.
'Ladies and gentlemen, please give Miss Texas winner, Kiah Lee, another round of applause.'
The sound of clapping and whistling flooded into my ears, giving me a rush of adrenaline. Once the curtains had closed, the judge personally congratulated me and led me towards a reporter.
After giving my winners interview, I walked into the dressing room. Some of the girls were packing there things and were on their way out.
'Where are you girls going?' I asked them.
'Home, obviously.' One of them responded, slightly grumpy.
'Oh please don't go. Just because you lost to me doesn't mean you have to be grumpy about it.' I say a little too cockily.
A lot of the girls either scoffed at me or gave me death glares.
'Kiah, just because this is your fourth time winning this event doesn't mean you have I be so cocky about it.' Another girl chipped in.
'I don't know what you mean by that. I was just telling her how it is.'
