Dolly, James and Connor embraced me and Hannah. "Now, the final choice." Dolly held up her hands and a ray of light shone. Two rays, one on each of her palms. One was golden, the other a pale blue. "If I want to be a human again, I can close the hand with the golden ray. If I want to be a happy angel on heaven, I close the hand with the blue ray." She explained. Dolly looked at us, then at the sky. "I died when I was fifteen...." She murmured. "I want another chance at life." She closed the hand with the golden ray. Mist drifted off her, and slowly but surely, the human Dolly took form.
She didn't have circus makeup, but a pale face with pink lips, green eyes and auburn hair. James stepped forward, taking her place and raising both palms. He didn't hesitate. He closed his golden ray. He became the human James with both his eyes, which were blue. "I'm staying here because of a very special person." He explained. It's Dolly. I thought. "Madison." He said, surprising us all, "I-I'm staying because of you."
I blushed. "Aww, James, I-" He cut me off with a injury inducing hug. Connor took his place. We looked at him. Connor opened his palms. Same two rays. He looked at Hannah. "If...if I go to heaven, you can have your voice back." Connor said. He started closing his hand with the blue ray. Hannah lunged forward and unclasped his hands. She shook her head and tears formed in her eyes. "But Hannah-" "Nnnnn." She gurgled. Connor looked anxious. "Are you sure?" He asked. Hannah nodded. "Love is in the air." Dolly murmured to me. "It sure is." I answered, watching as Connor became human again.
Dolly embraced her brother. Me and Hannah hugged. James pulled me in for a hug too. It was a cliché happy ending, but I liked it.
-Four years later-
"Have a good time! Take care!" Mom and Dad called as I walked towards the terminal. I kissed both of them. "Art College will be fine. I've been wanting to go since forever!" I assured my parents. "I sure hope so." Mom said anxiously. "I wouldn't want you to do something big just to make us happy." I smiled, wrapping her in my arms. "It's fine, mom. I promise." I told her. "Flight C367, you may board the plane now." The broadcaster announced. "Okay, gotta go! Love you guys!" I kissed them again and dashed towards my flight. I settled comfortably in my seat.As the plane took off, I though about my friends. Hannah went to a school for special needs, since she was mute. Dolly went to Cambridge, Connor graduated high school. James stayed in America for a university. Me? I was going to art college in Australia. James and I met his parents and mine when we made it back home. I found out James, Dolly and Connor had been missing since three months ago. There were a lot of tears about Andrea's death and Hannah's mutilation.
Dolly and Connor's parents paid for the funeral. Our parents put it down to a kidnapping, and we kept it that way. Nobody blamed us for Andrea's death. My parents approved of James, saying he was a great boyfriend. I though so too. It's been four years, and I still can't forget the horrors of that week.
"Miss? I think you forgot this." A flight attendant lightly tapped on my shoulder. I turned around. My eyes widened in horror. The flight attendant was holding the book. "No. I didn't forget it." I declined."Oh...really?" The flight attendant walked away, puzzled, and left for her cabin. A minute later, I heard her scream echo from the cabin. My blood chilled. If I thought the horrors were over, then I was desperately wrong....
The book is finally finished! What did you guys think of the ending? Did you like it? Or was it cliché? And who did you think gave the book to the flight attendant....? Anyway, thank you for sticking with me to the end. I hope you enjoyed the book! Love you!
