Tomorrow is the first day of summer vacation and our favorite nine girls are ready to spend it hanging out with one another in Nayeon's vacation house on JeJu Island. But first, they have to survive the last Friday of the school year.
Mina, the queen of the Video Game Club was currently beating another skilled member named Joo Hyun at Mortal Kombat. He was good, but Mina was better, and her triumphant smirk was proof. Joo Hyun, forever a good sport, high fived Mina. "Once again, our President is the best there is!" He cheered, giving her a huge grin.
All the members of the Video Game club had to admit the fact that Mina joining the club sparked a huge improvement in attendance and club events. They hosted gaming tournaments, got famous game developers to visit the school, and the members of the club who loved technology and graphics often got invited to gaming and tech conventions.
Joo Hyun checked his watch and grabbed his backpack. "Sorry guys, I've gotta deliver my new invention to a client. He's paying good money." He said. His club members waved goodbye to him as he made his way across the semi-repaired campus. Things had somewhat gotten back to normal the past few weeks, but after becoming a member of the dead, many students started to live life differently, like everyday was their last day.
Joo Hyun was one of them. He realized his love for inventions and broke the news to his parents who had wanted him to be a doctor. But they grew into the idea when they started seeing his inventions actually worked. And this one he was about to deliver, was his best one yet. He went to the roof of the school and met his client.
"You're here! Do you have it!?" His client asked. Joo Hyun nodded and walked closer to the older guy. He pulled off his backpack and took out the invention. "Okay, so how does it work?" Joo Hyun put the invention in his clients hands. "It's basically a giant camera that acts like a truth lens. You'll get to see the imagination and hear the true thoughts of the person who's in front of the lens. But I have to warn you, if you wear it for too long, you can get addicted."
The client shrugged and handed him the money. "I have to know how she feels about me. It's the only way." Joo Hyun wasn't one to jeopardize a sale, but he could tell his client was totally misguided about women. "Have you...asked her how she feels about you directly?" He asked. His client shook his head. "I don't...have the courage...But I'll definitely find out this summer!" He raced off, leaving Joo Hyun on the roof confused.
Joo Hyun shrugged and followed the desperate boy back to civilization. On his way, he passed Nayeon, who he waved at. Nayeon smiled and waved back, happily skipping through the halls. She was still happy over her first date with Jin Young, and she knew he felt the same. If you'd asked her a few weeks ago, she would've laughed at the thought of dating Jin Young. But he was actually her perfect match. They even have the same birthday.
As she walked the hallways love struck, she encountered Momo and Jungyeon walking towards the newly built cafeteria to have lunch. The two girls had grown closer after becoming roommates, and they learn a lot about one another. They're both Scorpios and both born in November, they both love meat, and they both like high fashion and dressing for comfort.
As the three walked down the halls, they picked up Sana and Tzuyu, who were still a little awkward with one another. Sana, who was explosive and talkative, often intimidated Tzuyu, even though she was harmless. Sana had offered to tutor her in Korean, which was appreciated, and the improvement was drastic. As a result, Tzuyu talked way more often, but she was still blunt just like before. Typical Tzuyu.
As the large group scanned the halls for more members of their group, they acquired curious whispers and stares from others in hallway. Ever since the nine of them banded together, they've been the talk of the school due to how different but charming each girl was from the others. And like the old saying goes, opposites attract.
Chaeyoung and Mina were already in the cafeteria, munching on pizza from the pizza stall. The others opted for Korean food and joined them at the table. Jungyeon went into the group chat and asked Dubu and Jihyo where they were. It turned out the two were preparing a collaboration between the Student Counsel and Dubu's Podcast for next year, which was sure to be a treat. They were just finishing up and would join the others for lunch soon.
Everythiing seemed to be looking up for the students at TwiceLand High School, and this being the last day of the semester was the icing on the cake. But little do they know, the summer holds a whole new adventure for them.
