In The Night - Fallacy x Encre

Chapter 16

It is a week after Jasper's birth and they are announcing his birth date, gender, and name.  I got back on my feet yesterday and currently I am reading in the library.  I am extremely nervous for the announcement, and Fallacy seems like he is as well.  I am holding Jasper in my arms extremely protectively.  

We are getting ready to exit the castle and I am right beside Fallacy nervously.  He pulls me into him and kisses me gently.  He pulls back and says "You are going to be fine... I know you are worried."  He pets my head gently.  I relax right away and the doors open.  The scholars and servants exit first and there is screaming and shouting.  Fallacy helps me walk a bit as I am frozen with fear.  He rubs my back as we exit and the shouting gets louder.  The scholar is flying in the middle of them all. "Today!!! We are to celebrate the arrival of week old Jasper, the king of Vampires and the grandson of the leader of the rogue's child.  This young male was born a week ago during the attack. Jasper took his first breath of air as the fighting ceased and his cries were heard echoing through the castle. Our leader worked hard and sacrificed his moment to see his first son born. Jasper has already started to open his eyes and his health is of the highest quality.  Lord Fallacy and Lord Encre's child will live on to be a legend."  The scholar announces and his voice echoes through out the forest.  Fallacy holds me closely as there is shouting from below.  Suddenly someone flies up and it is my grandfather.  Everyone is now on edge because of this.  "You..."  he says glaring at Fallacy.  The servant get prepared.  Fallacy holds me closer.  Grandfather then laughs.  "You better be marrying my grandson... And if I find out there is anyone else on the side... I split your skull open, vampire king."  He says crouching on the railing in front of us.  There are sighs of relief. "As leader of the rogues... I wish to make a treaty between us to celebrate my great grandson's arrival into this world."  He says.  Everyone is silent at this.  Fallacy then smiles and says "I as the king of vampires, I accept the idea of a treaty."  There is cheering everywhere and it echoes through the forbidden forest.  

Dancing, music and parties lasted for weeks on end through both races.  The partying has been slowly dying down the past few days. "Encre... Are you going to tell your mother and grandmother at least?" I hear my grandfather say. It startles me. "Mother and father disowned me two decades ago..."  I state sadly.  "Come on... Let me take you to see them and your grandmother.  Oh and Eterna she has been worried about you since you broke out of those chains."  My grandfather says.  I roll my eyes and say "Thank you for reminding me of that horrible day when you shattered most of my ribs and broke my isolation faze, and helped me to think for myself... It was really lovely having my ribs shattered and being continuously attacked."  My grandfather starts to howl with laughter.  "I was only trying to break you of isolation, they only would have only pinned you down."  He says.  "Says you! I just escaped being ripped apart!"  I shout then there is crying. I smack my head against the wall in frustration since I had just gotten Jasper to sleep. I turn to see my grandfather putting him back asleep.  I go and sit down on the bed tiredly.  I have not been sleeping very much since I am taking care of the baby.  Fallacy has been far too busy in the village connecting with all the rogues and villagers.  Rogues and vampires have been to intermingle.  Others avoid the other race.  The crying stops and I feel light headed all of a sudden.  "Encre... You need to lay down."  I hear.  There are footsteps and I feel myself being grabbed as there are swirls of colour.  I feel myself falling and there is crying.  I wrap my arms around my baby that is in my arms.  I spread my wings to stop the fall but I can only wrap them around us as we hit the ground.  "What the hell?"  I hear.  "Wait that is that person from the castle, that Fallacy talks about all the time."  I hear.  I sit up and let my wings go back into my back.  I am laying on my side holding Jasper tightly.  "He looks hurt."  I hear.  "Fallacy is going to kill us for bringing him here..."   I hear.  I sit up holding Jasper to my chest.  I see a white vast with black coming towards us.  Something else falls and I feel arms go around me.  "Lord Encre... What is this place?"  I hear.  I shake my head no and I feel myself passing out,  "Lord Encre! You must be injured! I will get you back to Lord Fallacy!"  I hear as I am being lifted up.  I am clutching Jasper to my chest a lot tighter.
