Joshua rushed at Barod's body as fast as he could. His friend would bleed out soon if he didn't use his ability to save him. Without a doubt, a magic user was attacking them and he needed to find out why, but Barod was his first priority. He was close to him but before he could reach him, he heard something fly through the air at him. He took a quick glance behind himself to see two things. One was a person walking into the woods and the other was the boulder, the size of his torso, flying at him!

Without a doubt, he thought to himself, that was the user! Thinking on his feet, Joshua pulled the sword from his hip and launched it at the tree that Barod was lying under. It slammed into it like a tree branch and Joshua slide right next to it. The boulder was immediately stopped by the sword.

I don't know this magic users ability but I do know that there is something of about this rock! He then looked down at his companion and gulped. He had to save Barod, as it was Joshua's fault he was even in this mess. Well first I have to heal Barod before he bleeds out.

As he sat on the ground next to Barod, the boulder was being held inches away from crushing Joshua against the tree. That wasn't his primary concern right now though. Right now he would heal Barod then think of a plan to beat this magic user. Joshua placed his hand on Barod and shouted. "Back Again!" With that, Barod's blood and hand sprung up into the air and flew back correctly onto Barod's arm as if it never came off!

Barod's eyes snapped open and he gasped for air like he was drowning. Color swiftly came back into his face as he quickly sat up only to bang his head on Joshua's sword and fall back onto the ground with a yelp of pain.

Joshua looked down at him and began to speak. "Barod, look, this may be happening too fast for you but you can't panic, I'll figure out how to-" before he could finish frantically speaking, Barod raised his hand up to touch the boulder and whispered something. In an instant, the rock became flat like paper  and Barod grabbed it and tore it to shreds and tossed the peices to the wind. The two then stared at each other in a daze.

Joshua was pacing back and forth as Barod began to throw up again. This time it was closer Because they couldn't afford another scare like that. So many thoughts where going through Joshua's head. On one side, Barod saved his life but on the other, he kept a huge secret. He decided directly confronting Barod would be the best solution. "Barod, why didn't you tell me you were a magic user?"

Barod gave him a look, then took thirty more seconds to finish what he started. After he wiped his mouth, he looked at Joshua and shook his head. "It wasn't relevant at the time, I didn't know others had an ability like me." "You thought it wasn't relevant that you could make shit completely flat?" "You didn't tell me you were a, what do you guys call it, magic user?" Joshua took a second to think. Barod had him with that one.

Barod began to rub his temple and Joshua started to breathe deeply before he spoke. "You said you didn't know about other magic users right?" He asked Barod, who nodded his head. "Well while we're safe for the moment I should explain it to you. Consider this lesson 2 and 3, even though you haven't finished one. Magic users are people who are born with a special ability we call magic. This ability is usually based on their personality and it can do amazing things. Usually the stronger the ability, the weaker the user is physically but they never go below the limits of normal people. I personally can hit at around forty miles per hour, hold my breath for five minutes, and I can even react fast enough to swat a fly before it hits my face. There are different types of magic users but it seems that you and I are touch based users. Right now, a magic user is attacking us and if we beat them, we can stop whatever is happening to us."

Barod gulped, this was alot of information to take in. He knew Joshua was weird but this is insane. He did have a question for him though. "Why can't we just run away?" Joshua shook his head. "Whatever he's doing to us has already started, if we don't stop him before the TV balloons go up in the next fifty minutes, we won't be able to lay a finger on him, but he'll be able to kill us without being seen So now lesson one and three have to go in effect to beat him before the balloons go up."
