Tom looked at the red headed girl. Tears stained her freckled cheeks. Though only in the 8th grade, Tom knew he was in love. He rubbed her soft hair and kissed her.
"See you soon Matilda."
Tom chuckled walking with his old friends. He listened to Edd go on, and on. He turned his attention to Matt. Still as pretty as ever. He smiled and continued to stare at the ginger, until he felt the cold impact of the front door. Tord bursted out in a gut busting chuckle. Tom rubbed his face and grumbled holding the door open as the three other boys left.
After a 15 minute walk both Edd and turn the corner,"My house is this way, me and Tord are gunna hang out. See ya guys later!" Edd waved as Tord placing a hand on his shoulder. Tom nodded and waved back as he continued to walk next to Matt. There was a long silence, that is until Matt spoke up, "Hey Tom," "Hmm?" " ...Do you remember the day you left..," Tom looked up at the sky as it slowly got gray, "Yeah... It was pretty emotional-" "why did you kiss me." It wasn't a question, more like a statement. Tom felt his throat go dry. He was going to speak but was interrupted by a loud rumble. Matt and Tom gave each other the same oh shit look. They continued to run down the side walk. Tom grabbed Matt and turned running twords his house, "Its closer! It will get us out ta the rain!" Matt nodded using his free hand to create a shade over his eyes so the droplets would get in them.
When they arrived they where soaked
Tom looked at Matt, who was slivering. Tom sighed, "I have some cloths if you wanna change." Matt nodded slowly. "Alrighty, upstairs we go!" Tom lead the way as the soaked ginger followed.
