My eyes widened, "What?"
"You heard me. We are moving to New York next week. Your dad got a higher paying job there," Mom said, serving herself with some spaghetti at the dining table,"Is something wrong?"
I bit my lower lip. I didn't want to tell my parents that I had a crush on a guy and that's making me not want to leave the school. Or the city, for that matter.
'It's just a stupid, insignificant crush that will never turn into a relationship. Why should I wait for someone who'd never know that I exist?' I thought to myself and replied," Nothing, mom, I'm perfectly fine with moving. I was just thinking about my school. I can't leave in the middle of my junior year, can I?"
"Of course, you can. We'll manage all of that," Dad smiled.
Little did I realize that the crush wasn't as insignificant as I thought it was.
