Today. I was going to get all the answers. Why my life took a drastic turn three years ago.
I was wearing black track pants and a white t-shirt.
I had a gun in case of an emergency.
I made my way towards Starbucks. My father decided to take a crowded place so we are not noticed.
As I entered I saw a man in the corner booth. Dressed in a black Armani suit. And the worst part he looked exactly like Robert Evans aka the man I thought was my father until yesterday.
I made my way to the corner booth. He looked up and smiled.
"You're my father?"
was the first thing that came out of my mouth when I reached the table. He nodded and said.
"Sit Kiara. I know you are only here for answers and believe me I wouldn't want it another way. There is a reason I left you and you need to return the a favor for the answers."
"I'll see."
"Okay. So I know you want to ask why were you with Robert or why I wasn't there for you. Right? So let's start from the starting. Alright."
"Just tell me what has been happening in my life and why?"
It was annoying the way he created suspense and waited after saying each sentence.
"All this started when I was eighteen. Dustin told you about his grandfather being a gang leader right?"
I nodded.
"His name was Kaden. I worked for him. Time passed and in five years I was his most trusted man. He didn't have a heir except his daughter who had left him. So basically his gang was doomed after him. But he didn't decide who was going to be the next leader. Members started leaving as he grew old. "
"I thought that I was still there for him so I deserved the leadership. But he didn't even think about it. He stopped worrying about the gang and it's deals. He stared regretting his decisions in life. He said that he missed his daughter. The loyal members to the gang were still there said that if they found him his daughter he might actually start thinking about the gang. What we didn't know at that time was it was all just an act."
"By this time I had met your real mother. We loved each other and wanted to stay happy so I decided to leave the gang. I didn't tell anyone about your mother in the gang. When I gave the news of my departure it was just before they were going to take Kaden to his daughter. The gang members called me disloyal, traitor and what not. But I still left."
"A few day later the news came that he went alone to meet his daughter and his grandson killed him. They didn't tell me then that he was the one who killed his own daughter and her husband first. They said that what happened was my fault. They knew that I was the only one who accompanied him to even the most private and important meetings."
"He was not always this cruel. The members were loyal because he saved them from dying or as they say. Maybe he was a savior for them but he was not for me. So the members decided to take revenge from me."
"They were like becoming crazy. They loved him like a father but he trusted me. They said I broke his trust and that broke him. Completely. I didn't know what was my fault. That I wanted to live a happy life with the love of my life. That's it. Did I tell his grandson to kill him. And he killed his own daughter. That time I came to know that your mother was pregnant with you."
"I was happy but I knew I had to keep you and your mother safe from the gang. So after your birth me and your mother went into hiding and we left you with my brother. I thought that the gang members wanted revenge for Kaden's death but that was not all. Later I found that they even accused me of stealing his money. Like I would do that. I thought a few years of hiding would make them forget about me. Or at least leave the matter."
