Alexis made herself a promise back then. She promised herself to always be there for those that she cared deeply. She wants to see anything but sorrow or distress on their faces. She wants to be the reason why they squint their eyes letting out a laugh. She wants to be the one that they can turn to and find comfort. No matter under what circumstances, she'll be there for them. She was there when Lauren shed tears and offered the brunette her shoulder to cry on. She was there when Lauren made it into the quidditch team and they went to celebrate later that weekend with Lauren's family. She was there when Lauren was stressed over a writing test and took her out of her room so she could have some air and reminded her it's really not the end of the world. More importantly, Alexis was there to always listen to Lauren and gives her friend her total attention. Alexis is a great friend to a lot of people.
However, she wasn't a great friend to herself.
In the midst of it all, Alexis pushed aside her worries and her feelings just to be there for everyone. She didn't give herself time to figure herself out as she was busy trying to please everyone. Whatever that's bothering her is not going to be a big fuss if she continues to ignore it. The truth is that, Alexis is afraid. She had noticed the slight differences when she's around Lauren. How her heart beats a bit faster when their eyes lock or how her heart jumps when they make contact with each other. As what she thought; it would not be a problem if she doesn't acknowledge it. How silly of her to think that it would actually work.
Now, laying on her bed, staring at the mural on the ceiling, as tears roll down her cheeks, she thought of how stupid of her to not acknowledge it beforehand and now she has to deal with the consequences. She dragged her fingers to rub her swollen eyes with a huff.
She was miserable.
Friends and classes were the last things on her mind these days. She had no strength the face them especially Lauren. They hadn't been talking for days after what went down in Lauren's room. Days that she attended classes, she would pray that she won't bump into Lauren.
She doesn't need to pray much as days that she goes for classes can be counted with ease.

"Hey Walz, have you been talking to your girl lately?"
Dinah and Camila were at the Hogwarts Library finding books to help them finish their assignments that were given by Professor Snape on magical illness called Lycanthropy. Camila was almost done with it but she needed extra information to complete it. They were making small conversations going through the books and it was about time that Lauren was brought up.
"Lauren? No, I haven't seen her around." Camila sighed. She enjoyed talking to the green-eyed girl. After seeing her best friend's shoulders slumped, Dinah assured her that they will go find Lauren later but Camila had a better idea.
"Actually, is it okay if I go now?" She asked Dinah excitedly. She began tapping her fingers to the hard cover of the book as she grew impatient.
"Sure, leave me here with all these books that I can't even understand what shit they're talking about. It's all good." The tall Polynesian answered with a scoff. She waved her hand in front of her best friend's face when Camila pouted.
"Don't give me that look. You have five seconds before I jinx you, so you better get your Cuban ass moving." she threatened as she took a hold of her wand.
"Thanks, Dinah! I swear I'll help you later with the assignment. I love you!" she grinned.
"Four, three, two.."
With that she sprinted out of the library and went searching for Lauren. Her eyes were looking around trying to get hold of a brunette with beautiful emerald eyes. She was so focused on locating Lauren that she didn't realise that she was seconds away from crashing into a girl. When it happened, Camila's eyes went wide as the girl fell back into the ground. The girl looked like she was wandering around with no destination. She looked lonely.
