At the end of school, the start of the break

"Come onnnn, get your face out of your phone, we are going to be late to practice!" Kuroo said impatiently. "ok, ok" I say softly "but you know we are probley going to be the first people there, its is still 20 minutes before practice".

"Ya, but your walking like a turtle, and it is probably going to take us years to get there." I sighed and put my phone away picking up the pace.

"So" he said casually "What are you doing for the break?" "Um" I responded "I'm not really sure, I usually don't do anything for breaks".

"Well, that sounds like you". He looked up at the sky thinking "How about we go do something nice together?"

"Wh..what?" I stuttered. I looked away from him, I could feel my face turning pink, why am I blushing?

"He saw my face turn pink and his face turned a light red, "Wait! Nu, no, that not what I meant!" He quickly cleared his throat and his face turned back to normal. "I mean go take a job or something, at least that will get you out of the house"

"Um, ok" I said softly. I didn't want him to see my face until it went back to normal. "That sound good"

As we started talking again the rest of the team slowly started showing up on there way to the gym.
"Hey yaku, lev" kuro greeted "hey!" They both greeted back

"Soooo" Yaku said mischievously "I herd that you guys are going on a job!" "What?" Kuro said surprised "how did you hear that?"

"We were following you" lev said innocently "lev! Shut up!" Yaku said as he punched him "owww, what, did I do?"

"You are being stupid that's what you did" he looked over at kenma and kuroo. "I'm sorry to ask you of this but I really need the extra cash and was wondering if I could pitch in?" He frowned over at lev "And this freak was following me, but he want to come along to, if that's ok."

"Well, um kenma and I wer....."

"Yes!" I suddenly said. kuroo looked at me sadly, a little hurt but shoved it away quickly  "well then, the more people we have, the the less work we have to do, that's fine with me."

I looked down at my feet "Why did I just do that? I was fine with them coming along, but why was I quick to push kuroo away? Thinking about spending time with him alone made me really antsy,  but why?

"Um guys" I say softly. "ya?" They all respond. "We are here where are you going?". They all looked around as they saw that I was standing on the door of the gym, while they were already passed it.

"Oh thanks kenma!" Kuroo said as he rubbed my head and walked in. "Thanks!" "Thanks" lev and yaku said too as they went in behind him. "Uh, your welcome?" I said to there backs "I had just told them that they were past the door.."

I followed them in and put on my volley ball shoes. I saw Kuroo spike a ball. I watched for a bit longer than I should have and then looked away before it looked like I was staring. "A job huh?" I thought to myself. "Well this should be interesting"

Yaku passed to me slightly behind my head, I took a couple of steps back and I saw kuroo coming up to approach, my arms extended to set, but then my brain just stopped, I saw him flying in the air, the sweat flying off his face, my face busted into a bright red, but suddenly I saw the ball right in front of my head, I quickly pushed out setting it perfectly to kuroo, but my foot twisted to the side, as I fell to the ground.

Kuroo quickly slammed it to the ground with a smile on his face to turn around and see me on the ground gripping his foot in pain.

"What happened?" Kuroo said worriedly. "Ow, oh god, I think I broke my ankle". I though to when I was looking at him, that's when I got distracted. I tryed my best to not blush. " I think I tripped."

"Then why are you blushing?" Taketora asked "He is probably trying not to cry." Lev suggested. "Do you two not know the means of self control?!" Yaku said irritated

"No no, ya that's it" I said quickly

"You are about to cry?" Kuroo asked "you sound like a little kid" "boys bring carry kenma over here" coach yasifuma said sternly. "kuroo and lev carried me to a chair next to coach.

"Can you move your ankle?" I tryed to rotate it but it hurt really bad, I winced in pain. "Put your foot on my leg" I place my leg in his lap, he gently rotated it "does this hurt?" I bit my lip, but the pain was intolerable, "Stop, stop that really hurts" I try to say with a straight face. But it hurt like someone smashed it with a hammer.

"Hm" coach muttered. "Well, kenma looks like you might have done something bad to your ankle, that means you will be doing nothing for the break, and if it is really broken, no volleyball for till it heals afterwards."

He looked really worried about haveing his setter out, but for concerned about my health.

I felt like my heart was ripped out. "No volleyball?"

It had been 2 days since the start of the break, I have been at home doing nothing. I had left early and kuroo drived me to the hospital, were they did say it was broken, a little more than fractured. That put me out for 4 mouths even when school started again.

I had been mostly sulking to myself these last 2 days with my gigantic boot on my leg.

*ding dong* I herd from the door "come in" I say softly. Kuro, and yaku entered with a smile. "Hey what's up?" I glared at him and pointed to my foot. "don't be so salty, we are here because I told you we would go on a job and we are going on a job". "How am I supposed to do that? I can't go anywhere far away"

"Well" kuroo said calmly "we though we could d..."

The door flew open and lev came bursting in. "WE COULD DO A BABY SITTING JOB"

"What? Where did you come from?!" Kuro asked confused ". "I was following you." He said normally "What is up with you two and stalking?!" Kuro said pointing at yaku and lev.

"No seriously, a baby sitting job would be a good way for kenma to get around, and just look how much it pays!" He showed us the paper. "Two thousand?!" Yaku and kuroo yelled at the same time. "This is like a jackpot! Where did you find this lev?!" Yuku said anxiously

"Over by Yukigaoka Junior high, past the hill" He responded. "Hmm, interesting, well then what do you think kenma?"

Alone, with yuku, lev and...... Kuroo.

"Ya that sound great"

So I was planning on starting right off the bat with the baby sitting but I wanted to do a short back story and then.. I just couldn't stop writing😅
