As miru was pacing towards the back of the castle, Comec was in sight placing away pots of fledging papples into direct sunlight. He noticed her rushing movements.
Comec – Lady Miru, why the desperate rush?
Miru haulted.
Miru – I am only seeing my dragon. Nothing too special.
Comec placed his hand on her should as his herajika horns twitched.
Comec – would you want me to accomplish you?
Miru's Thoughts: Damn!
She faked a grin.
Miru – oh no, that is all right. Curu needs a visit from me every so often. I would never leave him too alone.
Her tone of voice was skillful. She knew Comec would sense her reckless actions. He was in fact, her Protector since birth.
Comec – are you sure my Lady? I know that boy can be a handful at most times.
Miru straightened her mouth in dismay.
Miru – curu just has a little problem with people. He does not like to be bothered by only me since no one understands him.
Comec removed his hand from her shoulder.
Comec – I apologize for my remark. Best be on your way.
Miru glared at him with strength.
Miru – thank you Comec.
Comec wiggled his horns.
Comec – promise me that you will not cause any more trouble for today? I have had to replace all the yarn from the needle room due to your little lesson with Lady Miro.
Miro nodded her head.
Miru – yes, I was only teaching my sister the ways of the queen. She is very skillful and her pride is stronger than mine. She will do good.
She walked away leaving Comec to question her ability.
Miru urgently opened the wooden doors to the back of the castle shed. Few people even dared to enter this part of the property because of a tiny problem. However not for the young princess of Amora.
Miru - Curu, are you there?
Sound - Furu, fuurruu. . .
A smile creased Miru's face.
Miru - Come on out, there is no one here but me.
Sound - Furu, FURUUUU!!!
A gush of wind peered over Miru's head as she sat in a chair peacefully. What landed in front of her, was a large blue and yellow skinned dragon twice her size in height. His herbivorous face was smoothed and gentle, with large yellow eyes and yellow rings around his pin horns. His body was strong with his front legs stepping on the ground and his pointed tail slashing the air in pride. His massive wings enclosed beside his body as they calmed down from his recent exorcising treatment. Although, despite his large appearance, Curu wasn't a killer animal nor an enemy to the people of Calaropa.
He was what was known as a Guardian Dragon.
Miru - Yes, I am here Curu. please, sit by me. I have something important that I wish to discuss with you.
Curu stuck his golden tongue out from one side of his mouth and looked like what appeared was a smile. The soon-to-be-queen giggled as she gestured her hands to the ground. The Guardian Dragon obeyed his master and laid himself beside her, suddenly creating a whining noise through his mouth.
Miru - All right, all right.
She kindly began to praise his head with her hand as she spoke softly.
Miru - I have decided Curu, I might leave very soon.
Curu raised his head up in confusion.
Curu - Furu?
Miru - the more I put my mind to it, the more I am eager to go. Mother believes that it is a terrible idea and Miro, along with Minachi are trying their hardest to convince me not to go. I can understand their reasoning because I will never know what is truly out there. The Thousand Forest is a place that no one mentions anymore and I can clearly see why it is so dangerous to even walk beside the walls. However, I am not afraid what I may find out there.
Curu stared at her with his brilliant yellow eyes in concern.
Curu - Furuuu.
He rubbed his head against Miru's body that nearly knocked her over her wooden chair.
Miru - Hehe, do not worry Curu, I am not going to forget about you. In a matter of fact, I have a favor to ask of you if I may.
She reached around her neck and pulled out her silver whistle. Curu beamed his eyes at it.
Miru - I do not know when I will be gone, but I will be needing your help if it ever comes to it. If I am ever gone, no matter WHAT, when I blow into this whistle, come to me. Is that understood?
Curu nodded his large head in agreement.
Curu - Furu!
Miru couldn't help but to smile greatly at his response and praised his head again.
Miru - It is a promise then.
She stood on her feet looking at her dragon with calm eyes.
Miru - Do whatever you can to protect me Curu. I do not know what will happen to me in the future but even I am afraid of what will come ahead.
Curu nodded his head once again.
Miru - I will need you to be there.
This time, the Guardian Dragon arose and whined at his master.
Miru - What is wrong?
Then she noticed the purple tears streaming down his skin. She grinned kindly.
Miru - You really are going to miss me, are you not?
Curu - Furu, furu, fuurruu...
Miru raised her feet so that she stood on her toes and gave a little peck to his forehead.
Miru - Do not forget our promise, Curu.
She slipped her hand off his head and turned around for the door to leave. Curu stood there watching her every move as she left, knowing that he will get to help his master with his strength.
