chapter 2: hurt
wonwoo walked out of class, it was a class with mingyu and it hurt wonwoo everytime he took a glance at him. he couldn't forget last year, it continuously came back to scare him, to riddle him with fears in order to stop him from talking to mingyu.
mingyu looked back once. he saw wonwoo. and he smiled. wonwoo stayed straight faced. he couldn't smile at mingyu without feeling hurt.
stop.
this feeling in my stomach, the twisting just won't stop.
so please, stop smiling at me.
mingyu smiled bigger. he smiled and smiled and then gave up, looking back to the front of the classroom.
wonwoo walked to his friends, his only friends that truly loved wonwoo for his weird, quiet self. and they, were the two lovebirds, jeonghan and joshua. they were harrassed for being gay a lot and although they continuously denied they were dating, wonwoo just couldn't believe it and the others in their school couldn't either.
"wonwoo!" jeonghan, a very pretty boy with longer hair than a minority of the girls in wonwoo's rotating class, pulled him into a hug. he got bullied for that fact, but he never cared, he liked his hair and believed it shaped him into the person he was. and besides, the girls found him handsome, and he'd get confessions almost everyday. he thought that the boys bullying him were just jealous. and maybe they were.
"how was class?" joshua asked. he was another pretty boy, from america. he had puffy eyes and cute lips. wonwoo didn't know why he paid attention to those features. maybe because they were the most prominent in joshua's face.
as wonwoo stared, he realised that they looked like anime characters. they were perfect and never broke out, he thought they were aliens at one point, seeing as their skin were like a porcelain doll's.
"hey.." wonwoo said, attempting a smile, instead looking awkward.
"why did you skip first period?" joshua asked, frowning. he usually got swarmed by girls in art class, unless wonwoo was by his side.
"i was in the bathroom." wonwoo muttered, flashes of colour in his mind. the smell of pollen still lingered in his nose. he sighed.
"vomiting flowers again?" jeonghan raised an eyebrow.
"yeah.." wonwoo chuckled, looking down and scratching his head.
"why is that happening... do you.. eat flowers?" joshua asked, seeming actually concerned with wonwoo's diet. that made wonwoo crack up. he laughed for a few minutes then stopped to grab his stomach.
"no." wonwoo said, feeling a twist in his stomach again. he looked up and mingyu was right there, behind jeonghan and joshua.
"wonwoo." mingyu simply said that one word, enough to make wonwoo vomit right then and there, right on mingyu's school pants.
wonwoo stayed quiet, everything, anything related to mingyu just brought him back to the traumatic experience that seemed to be too vivid to forget.
"wonwoo?" wonwoo was about to vomit.
he did.
"oh my god, are you okay?" jeonghan stepped in and pat wonwoo's back as the rest of the petals fell to the ground. he was crying. he was hurting. his mouth was filled with flowers and mingyu just looked back at him in disgust.
"what the hell?" mingyu said, a mixture of saliva, crushed flower petals and pollen on his pants. "weirdo." he said, walking away from the scene. wonwoo cried more. he ruined it again.
