Ashley: she's your sister!?
Shepard had gathered everyone for a meeting to discuss what had happened at the docks. Dr. Chakwas took Jane down to the medical room for an examination.
Shepard: Dr. Chakwas is running a blood test, currently. We'll now in a few minutes.
Garrus: your conversation with her on the docks made her sound like a lunatic- no offence commander.
Liara: she's bean a slave for thirteen years, you said?... goddess, what she must have gone through.
Kaiden: the worst, I'm betting.
The door behind them opens as dr. Chakwas steps through carrying a data pad.
Dr. Chakwas: Jane has gone through much more than I anticipated. I had to flush her system, and I am currently working on getting the slave ships out of her head. I gave her a sedative to make the process easier for her. She's sleeping, currently.
Shepard: and?
Dr. Chakwas gives Shepard the data pad. There were two DNA waves on each side of the screen. In over the both of them said "match" it was really her...
Dr. Chakwas: I can't imagine what you must be going through, commander.
Suddenly, joker's voice fills the room.
Joker: uh, commander. The Council wants to talk to you, and they don't seem very happy. I think they're spamming the call button.
The counselors were the last people Shepard wanted to talk to, but he had to bring it up eventually.
Shepard: connect us, Joker. Crew, dismiss.
Dr. Chakwas: I shall Notify you when she awakes, commander.
Everyone leaves the room as Shepard approaches the terminal where the Asari, Salarian, and Turian councilor's soon appeared.
Asari councilor: Commander, we have received from... disturbing news.
Salarian councilor: we noticed there was an incident on the docs that you resolved quite peacefully.
Turian councilor: not to mention stupid. What if that girl is just playing pretend, and she's really just an agent for Saren.
Shepard: If you heard about the incident, then you know she has been a slave for the past 13 years.
Turian councilor: that doesn't answer my question, commander.
Shepard: If she is an agent of Saren, then me, and my crew, will deal with her... without your help.
Asari councilor: Still, we don't know for sure. Either way, she should remain on the citadel for treatment.
Shepard: not. Going. To happen.
He was starting to get pissed. He could deal with the council when they complain about his missions, but this was personal business... family matters.
Salarian councilor: then your force our hand, commander. Citadel security will board your ship. You can hand over the girl peacefully, or we will use force.
Turian councilor: Oh, and don't try to escape, we have already locked down all the Normandy's system.
Asari councilor: If you can convince us why we should let her stay abroad the Normandy, then we won't dispatch security.
There was a long silence. Shepard leaned his head down, took in a deep breath, and swallowed before finally answered.
Shepard: her name is Jane...
Turian councilor: a simple name won't convince-
Shepard: Jane Shepard... my twin sister...
For the first time in history, the Council was speechless. A single tear fell from Shepard's face.
Asari councilor: I... Shepard, I... I'm so sorry.
This was the first time Shepard heard the Asari councilor speak about herself rather than "the council"
Salarian councilor: this is... serious evidence, commander.
Turian councilor: If you can prove it.
Shepard raises his head, and holds up the Data.
Shepard: here's your proof. Blood tests confirm we are related. I'll have Dr. Chakwas send the information to you.
Asari councilor: Actually, we should set up a meeting. Bring the information yourself, commander. And we will discuss this further.
Turian councilor: what about the girl?
Asari councilor: Jane will remain on the ship until we look over the evidence Shepard provides. If it does not suffice, then we will send her to our hospital.
Salarian councilor: we will meet in thirty minuts, commander. Don't be late.
The three hologram disappear. The evidence was the key to winning over Jane. Shepard heads down to his locker, puts his N7 armor on, and leaves the Normandy without bring anyone.

Twins
Science FictionWhen I personally play mass effect, I can't choose between playing the male or female Shepard. both are great voice actors in every way. Eventually (this morning) I thought: "What if there were two Shepard's? and what if they were twins?"
