Heavens Waiting Room

A Bright Light

It all goes dark. Not just my sight but everything. My mind, my thoughts, the voices in my head are all gone. Just eternal peace. Oh and I do feel a sharp pain in my forehead but eh who cares. I'm dead now, I don't have worries...
So now what? I mean, I'm dead there is nothing to do. I shouldn't be thinking this. Or that. Or that! I just shouldn't be thinking at all as I'm dead. Then I hear it...
"Ahem"
A polite cough? I look around confused as that couldn't be a noise could it?
Must be my imagination.
But can I even have an imagination any more?
"AHEM!"
Wait that wasn't me. How could it have been. Then who was it?
Darkness is all around me so there is no one to cough.
"Look just open your bloody eyes and turn the hell around to face me"
My eyes don't feel closed. I try anyway to open them. It feels like another layer of eyelid just opened up. Urgh disgusting.
Where am I?
It looks like a old hospital.
There is a grand door in front of me with no windows. There are no windows. Hm weird. There is a couple of benches to my right with a big cat poster saying hang in there. But the cat has fallen off the tree. That makes no sense.
To my left there is a really long corridor connecting many other corridors together. The corridor goes as long as I can see. So where am I?
I'm in a queue
"TURN AROUND!!"
Facing the wrong way
Behind me is a girl with a Pair of glasses and long, dark brown hair. She was stood behind a big desk with a till, in a white dress
With wings
Freaking wings...
I let out a short, loud laugh which echo's up into this tremendous building.
"Sorry about that," this angel like woman said,"I hardly ever lose my temper. Name?"
Before I could answer I heard a sarcastic laugh from down one of the many corridors.
This really seemed to kick the woman off as she glowed a red colour and screamed "Shut up Gabriel you little..."
She Was forced to stop suddenly as another winged person just flew in and put a bony finger to her lips
"Shhh," he shushed,"Swear at me and I will send you to hell so quick you'll break your legs on the way down..."
Have gave her a cocky smile and me an annoying wink and then he just disappeared into a puff of smoke.

I let out another short loud laugh which causes a few people to turn there heads in my direction.
is this heaven?
Nah can't be.
The woman turned back towards me. She still glowed a reddish colour.
"So... name?"
I stared at her for another minute before I realised she was waiting for me to answer
"Oh hi my names Finn Victory. Now where the hell am I?
She responded calmly and the red colour glowing off her seemed to die down.
"All that will be explained soon now please go down there and then take the 107th corridor the left please."
She gives me a sweet, small smile but I'm too confused to give her one back. I only manage to take a few steps when suddenly the smoke gabriel left hit the smoke detectors and made the ceilings literally open up. Hundreds of hundreds of litres of holy water fell down from the ceiling and soaked everything and half flooded the room I was stood in. My clothes were ruined but I didn't really care. Suddenly the woman on the desk started to scream in anger. She was glowing redder and redder by the second. Smoke and fire started to bounce off her. She screamed,
"SCREW YOU GABRIEL!!!!!!!"
And then she just blew up. In a quick small blaze of fire she was gone. All that was left was her white cloak and Glasses.
Hm...
Yep I'm passing out
Then for a second time it all went dark.

I awoke in a chair. My memory was fuzzy but I could clearly remember an angel exploding. It must have been a dream. Had to be a dream. I'm just now sat here in a normal hospital waiting for my results. But This chair didn't look or feel like a normal hospital chair and the room I was in was far too grand for a hospital. Nope this is normal.
All normal.
Then he walked in.
A short dark haired man who looked quite buff.
oh great
He has wings
And a white cloak
Before I could pass out again his hand suddenly raised. I felt goosebumps go all the way down My spine.
The god like hand suddenly moves.
And slaps me hard across the face.
I am too shocked to scream out in pain
He then opened his mouth and said
"That's for making me waste time by dragging your behind all the way into my office! You aren't light you know!"
I respond apologetically
"I'm so sorry Angel. Now can you please tell me where I am. Also are you Gabriel?"
"Hell no! Why does every human ask that! I really do hate Gabriel. My names Kevin. And you are in a place where people are either put into a heaven or a hell. And you my lucky sir are going to heaven. Probably. OK there's a 50/50 chance."
In other words he had no idea.
He picked up a piece of paper on a table and read it over a couple of times then just threw it onto the crackling fire in the wall. He sat up and put his face close to mine
"Look I'm gonna level with you. I don't care if you make it somewhere nice and cosy or if you go down to the place below hell. But filling in forms for people going to hell is a lot of paperwork so how about I just send you to heaven?"
I have to ask
"What? Your a freaking angel this is your job! Just tell me what was on that paper and I'll go either way."
"Paper? Oh the paper I was just.... no no no. That was blank. I just hate small talk."
I'd almost given up with where I was. I must be on some kind of drugs because I'm now just arguing with a lazy angel. In a hospital place.
We sat in silence glaring at each other for around 5 cruel minutes before he slapped me again.
Harder making it sting for quite a while after.
"WHAT WAS THAT FOR!!!!!???"
"I have no idea it was just fun the first time. So anyway the whole heaven thing. Right here's the deal. To get to heaven a bright light will be placed in front of you by yours truly. You will go towards this light quickly or it will disappear and you'll be stuck here forever in a misery. Once you walk towards the light you will get all your wishes in one of the many heavens and become and angel and blah blah blah. I can't be bothered explaining. Right here's the light."
I had so many questions I couldn't focus on a light! One of many heavens? I can see the blinding light but I want answers before I leave. My head and thoughts are swimming. The light really overwhelms my visions but I manage to make out Kevin's silhouette.
I scream out,
"I..."
Then its gone
The light has just gone in the simple blink of an eye.
"Wha...?"
Kevin smiles but has the decency to at least fake an upset look.
"Ooh that's a shame. You missed the light it's gone your stuck here forever now. There's nothing for you to do and you'll be stuck in this world for ever and ever. This also means no heaven either but I'm figuring you guessed that. Now get out of my office I have another patient coming because you know, A lot of people are dying. Love to chat but can't! Bye!"
I'm too shocked to understand what's going on. My heart is pounding so hard I think its going to break out of my chest. My stomach clenches and I feel ill. I collapse on to the floor and cry. I can't do anything else but cry and cry.
Kevin strides over my body and opens the door.
"Out."
I look at him "Are you serious!"
"Yep. Look just walk around and get used to every billion rooms we have. I'd show you around but I don't want to and in all honesty I don't like you...

Look I Can tell your not moving so how about this.
You can ask me one question and then I'll meet you at my next break to tell you more." I rise a little bit at this offer.
"Yeah my breaks in 50 years so I'll catch up soon."
I give him the look I can give with the most venom and ask him the question I think I need to ask.
"Is there no way to heaven?"
He just laughs really hard at this question.
"Not a chance!" He says almost too cheerfully and with a huge grin on his face.
I mutter "God I hate you."
As I'm leaving he sticks his head out the door as if to watch me leave.
"I get that a lot... NEXT!!!" And the door shuts behind me leaving me lost in the middle of billions of Rooms with no idea what to do next...
