~Chapter 8~

Addison's P.O.V

~After School~

I walked home as usual with the white piece of paper in my hand debating if I should text him or not. I think I will.

As I walked inside, my mom was on the phone and my brother was sitting on the couch with his stupid girlfriend, Ashley. Ugh I hate her. You'll see why.

"Hey Addison!!! Omg how are you?! Are you planning to try out for cheerleading? You really should! You can impress those cute guys in your grade. What are their names Cameron or something?" Ashley asked. I definitely have tried to impress them.

" I've definitely been better and thanks for the offer Ashely but I don't like them very much and I'm not much of a gymnast or cheerleader whatever the difference is.." I said as I started walking to my room.

"Whatever," she exclaimed.

"Hey mom." I said to mom as she was hanging up from the phone.

"Oh hello honey! How are you?" She asked strangely perky.

"As I said to Ashely I've been better." I told her back.

"Ok well I have some news. I already told Ted." She said.

"Okay what is it?" I asked very curious. She only ever did this when Dad left.

"Don't worry it's good news. So you know that when your father left us, you always wanted a dad?" I nodded. "Well I met  man and he has two boys that go your school. I think one is your age. They are coming for dinner tonight!" She told me.

"Wow mom that's great! I'm so happy for you!!" I really was. This is a big deal for mom because she has been pretty sad about dad mysteriously leaving.

Flashback-
I was twelve when this happened
The day was amazing. Dad took Ted and I out to play mini golf and then to an arcade. Looking back on it I guess it was a goodbye present because when we went back home, I never saw him in the morning.

Back to the story-

"Aww thanks Hun I'm happy that you are so supportive of this. They will be coming  in about an hour so get ready! I'm making my famous Casserole!" She said going downstairs to start cooking. I put on picture above and put my hair in a fishtail braid.
