Chapter 9

Cato asked me to meet him by the old oak tree. Its the oldest in the district. Its at the top of a big hill that looks over the tops of other districts I don't know what ones. I don't come here much. I finally get to the top of the hill and I wait. And catch my breath. I see cato sitting there with a lanturn. Looking over the tips of the trees and into the other districts. I know one district and that's 7 it's got the most trees. You can 7 from here not much of them but you can see them it's beautiful at night the street lights are on and you can see them through the leaves in the trees."the sunset is beautiful" I says " the sun rise is even better " he says " we can't stay out her all night" I says " we can come back at dawn and watch it" he says. I nod and put my head on is chest. I can hear his heart beat. It's in sync wit mine. Cato looks over to the woods and says " look over there the stars. They are watching over us" I look to the right and see the star that my family said was my sister. " that one there. That's my sister. My family named it after her. She didn't deserve to die. It wasn't her time." I say " your sister?" He says. He never knew that I had a sister I don't expect him to. " yeah my sister was killed in the games. Her name was Eliza She was in the 67th games" I say.

I feel my eyes filling up with tears. I want to breach down in tears but I don't know how cato would react " oh I'm sorry. I had no idea." He says " I wouldn't expect you too. She wasn't never well know" I wipe my eye and catos hand touches mine and he holds my hand wipes the tears away from my eye and looks at me. " you safe with me. And Eliza is safe up there. No one will hurt you whilst we are watching you" he says. I do feel safe with him. I snuggle up to him and he puts his arm around me. We watch the stars. For hours

I wake up in my bed. I'm tucked in and my pillow is fluffed. It so comfortable. But I don't remember coming home. I walk to the kitchen where I see my mother sitting with a cato. They are talking. " clove. You never told us that you had a boyfriend" my mother says " you just told us you where meeting a friend" she said. She didn't seem upset angry or surprised. " I didn't want to startle you" I told her " it's fine. We didn't give you a crew few but it seems cato didn't want to scare us by you not coming home. So he brought you back" I look to cato and he is smiling. I love his smile " thank you " I say " I'll just get dressed and then we can go out" I said to him. I put on a dress with flowers on it and my pale ballet pumps. I ran out of my room and grabbed his hand and walked out the door " bye mum, so where are we going today?" I said to my mum then to Cato " I was thinking training" he says. I look down at my dress and pumps then look back up to him. " I have some old clothes in my locker. You can use them" he says to me. I smile and look at him. We walk on to the centre. As we walk I see people starring at us. I ignore it. Like I usually do but they are starring right at me making it obvious then I have an idea. " hey I bet I can beat you there" we race to the centre. I beat him. " you let me win " I say " you caught me" he says and laughs. We walk in to the training centre. And cato leads me to the sword station. He stands behind me and guides my arm. Then I take him over to the knife throwing station. I think be both agree that I will never be professional status at swords and the same with cato and knives. We leave the training centre. It's late and I have to get home soon
