Late Introductions

Arianna's POV

"Hey!"

I whipped my head around to see that Stiles kid walking towards me.

"I never got your name."

"It's Arianna."

"So, you're new here?"

"Uh no. What are you talking about?" I didn't think it through but I didn't want to be more out of place than I already was.

"Cute." He smiled and I blushed. "I've gone here since I was 11. Kinda hard to trick me."

"Oh. Wait, isn't this a high school?"

"What can I say? I was an exceptional child." He smirked. He was really beautiful with his eyes washed. I looked away and started to walk away to the school exit. The day was finally over and I just wanted to sleep.

"Hey! Wait up!" I stopped to let him catch up.

"You don't talk much do you? That's okay, I'll do the talking. One question I've been dying to ask: how'd you end up here?"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Well, you don't seem to fit in with the general student population."

"What about you? You don't exactly fit in either," I snapped and continued to walk.

"Wait! You didn't answer my question!" He rushed to me.

"Look, it's not like I'm happy to be here. My mom forced me to move from cozy Minnesota to LA where it rarely snows. Not only did I move halfway across the country, I also have to go to this stupid school with people who are nothing like me. And now, if you don't mind, I'm going home where I can at least try to be happy."

"First of all, this school is anything but stupid," Stiles said with another smirk. "Second, you can't go home."

"Why not?" I asked, confused.

"School's going to be on lockdown. An announcement's gonna come any second now."

Attention Beacon Hills High School. The school will be on lockdown due to mysterious animal sightings outside town. No need to panic. The sheriff just wants to make sure everything's safe before allowing students to leave. Thank you.

"Great," I muttered.
