Stefan took me into the woods. I had no idea how to hunt animals, but he seemed to be an expert. I felt like we were native Americans scavenging in the distant mystic falls forest. Everything was swift and sudden like I was living in fast motion. He was teaching me how to survive.
Suddenly, a deer popped out of nowhere and Stefan told me to close my eyes and I think he bit the deer. He then told me to feed on the Deer. It felt wrong. I felt like the deer was me as a human. Helpless. Lost. Unprotected. The only family I have is my brother Jeremy and Stefan and Damon. They will always protect me. And I will stop at nothing to do the same for them. When I had had enough, Stefan wiped my face from all the dark blood from the innocent deer I had fed from. The way he touched me, I felt like I was being tickled by a thousand feathers. I threw myself at him and kissed him deeply. We vamp speeded to a tree where we pulled off our t-shirts and kissed passionately. Suddenly, I gagged and shoved Stefan away. I speeded away and pulled back my long hair. My throat shaking. I vomited. It was unpleasant. Blood was pouring from my mouth and I thought I was gonna die.
We abandoned our trip and made our way home. Damon was right. Maybe I couldn't feed off animals. Or perhaps Stefan was right. Maybe it's my doppelgänger blood rejecting anything I feed on.
I decided I would ask Damon for help. I didn't want to hurt anybody and I let him know this as soon as I saw him in the mystic grill.
He told me a stragedy I could use to not kill people. Snatch, eat, erase. I decided I would try this out. I picked out a blonde haired girl and took her to the back room, Damon accompanied me. I compelled her to not move or say a word as a took a bite from her neck. Her warm, oozing blood tasted like nothing I had ever eaten before and I wanted to indulge in it. Damon was telling me to stop but all I could think about was the blood. Just then, all the blood stopped flowing and I raised my head to see what was going on. The girl was faint and fell to the floor.
"Well done! You killed her." Damon said sarcastically.
"What? Oh god no! Damon you could've helped!" I gasped.
"I tried you weren't listening, consider it a lesson learned." Damon replied.
I burst into tears and wiped the girls blood off my face. I felt like a hunter. Unable to stop until I eventually get my prey. I slaughtered someone. I couldn't believe it.
I guess this is what happens when you take damons advise.
"Well at least you don't have to compel her to forget what happened cos she is dead."
"That isn't the point Damon!" I said angrily.
"Elena calm down!" Damon breathed
"DONT TELL ME TO CALM DOWN YOU MONSTER!"
"Elena you have to tell Stefan." Damon mumbled.
I nodded slowly and walked out the door, leaving Damon and the corpse alone. I drove back to the Salvatore residence and entered the house. I waited for Stefan to come as his car wasn't there. As I waited I poured myself a bourbon. And another. And another. I drowned my sorrows in my bourbon glass and took self pity. I took a wonder around the house, still thinking about the girl I killed. I felt guilt and misery.
I decided to have a shower. I walked to damons room and entered his bathroom, closing the door behind me. I carefully took my clothes off, tears falling down my face as I did so. I turned the water dial and stepped in the shower. Hot water was falling onto my body as I scrubbed away the guilt, but somehow it didn't go away. I turned the shower off and stepped out again. I grabbed a warm fluffy towel and wrapped myself inside like a sushi roll. I heard Stefan come in and now it was time to face him. To tell him the thing I was most dreading..
