Our Hearts

You took me and my heart
And I gave it away with no charge
I had a barrier around my heart
So that no one like you could get in
But now nothing is isolating my heart
It's left right open for everyone to rip.
Because, you see, nothing is more fragile than my heart
So while we can't be together for the moment
I will wait for you - so will my heart.
I will let it be beaten, torn and ripped
The raw centre of my heart
Will be bruised, hurt, and shredded
From the pack of hyenas that prowl me daily...
I try to bandage it up
but for now all I have are bandaids and tape
And that won't hold for long.
But I'd only do this to our hearts..
Only if that means I see you.

And I know, you're heart is going through the same pain
And I'm sorry my selfish heart hurt your heart too.
I wish I could go back in time to save your heart
Or make sure you're safe and okay
If my heart broke so yours could be safe...
...let it happen.
So that the monster that keeps us apart
It would've never been created... all because of our hearts.
So this is it.
You love me.
And I love you.
Yet a tragic Romeo and Juliet it seems.
The distance can't be closed.
For we are forever miles away.
You will always be a piece of my heart.
And my soul.
Until the future, I suppose...
