Hinata ran towards the gym. His face and neck was pink and covered in sweat. Why was he like this? He forgot to set his alarm, and to add on to that, his bike was totally wrecked. So he had 15 minutes to get school. Which wouldn't have been a problem with his bike. But he didn't have acecess to his bike. So he ran as fast as he could. it took him 30 minutes without stopping to get to the school. He was panting and out of breath. Dammit, why couldn't today be a good day? out of ALL of the days, today had to be messed up. He was approaching the gym, hearing his teammates already practicing. Their shoes squeaking against the floor, the sound of volleyballs being spiked down. Man, Hinata would've loved to be doing that right now, but as tired as he was, he collapsed in front of the door, hitting his head on it as he fell.

Why isn't that dumbass here already? He should've been here 15 minutes ago. Kageyama was so unfocused that his precision tosses were only 10% precision and 90% getting hit in the face. He decided to take a break and sit on the bench. Nobody said anything. They all noticed he was off his game today. They kept practicing and let Kageyama cool off. He closed his eyes and breathed deeply. Listening to the shouts of his teammates and the loud bang on the door. Wait. His eyes flew open and he stared at the door.

"Daichi-san, " Kageyama said as he stood up.

"Need something?" Daichi stopped practicing and put his hand on his hip.

"I heard something at the door, can I go look?" Daichi nodded and then went back to practicing. Kageyama jogged to the door and opened it. At the foot of the door was Hinata Shouyou, passed out, sweaty, and breathing heavy. Kageyama stepped outside, closed the door, and sat Hinata up against the wall. "Dumbass" he muttered as he pressed his hand on his forehead. He seemed hot, but that was most likely because of running in the heat. He stood up and opened the door. "Um, guys, a little help?" he beckoned for the team to come over.

They jogged over and Suga gasped and kneeled down to help Hinata.

"No no no no no" Suga repeated silently. He turned around and his mother instinct kicked in. "Daichi, get water, Yamaguchi, get some towels." The two ran back inside and got what they were told. He turned to Kageyama. "You found him like this?"

"yes"

"Do you know what happened?" Suga said, a little worried

"no" he replied

"Kageyama, hold him up please" Suga grabbed the towels and soaked them with the water. He put them on Hinata's neck and then put the bottle aside. Kageyama eyed the bottled water and had an idea that would definitily get Suga mad. But nevertheless, he did it anyway.

"Suga-san, please hold him." Kageyama let go of Hinata, and grabbed the water bottle.

"Kageyama what are you- WHAT THE HELL?!" Suga screamed.

Kageyama uncapped the bottle and dumped it on Hinata's head. At that, Hinata's eyes flew open and he stood up so fast that he hit Kageyama in the nose with his head. "OI WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" Kageyama held his nose, that he felt was bleeding.

Hinata was scrambling all over the place, mixing up his words. "I'M NOSE, UH, NOSE SORRY BLOOD, I'M SORRY" Suga tried calming him down, but he couldn't. He just sighed and walked back inside with the rest of the team, sighing.

"Hinata what the hell were you doing out here passed out?" Was that concern in his voice? It didn't matter, he just wanted to know why this Dumbass was passed out and late to practice. His nose was still bleeding but he didn't care anymore.

"I uh, I sotra woke up late and my bike was somehow wrecked and I ran here." Hinata scratched his neck. This is so not a good day. He felt his forehead that made contact with the door, and Kageyama's face and winced. "Ah, that hurts" he forced a smile and looked at Kageyama. There was wonder on his face, if that was even possible. As far as he knew, Kageyama had no human feelings. Kageyama still hadn't spoken yet so he said "I thought today was gonna be a good day, I guess not huh?" He still wasn't replying. "Hey, Bakayama, hellooooo?" Hinata waved his hand in front of his face and Kageyama snapped out of his trance and looked to the ground. He mumbled something that he couldn't hear. "What was that?"

"I said Happy Birthday." Kageyama said louder. He had forgotten why he was so anxious about today. Why he was thinking about Hinata more than usual. He had forgotten it was his birthday. And he just remembered. He looked up and Hinata's face was full of pure joy.

"AW BAKAYAMA YOU REMEMBERED MY BIRTHDAY, HOW NICE, I didn't think you could be so thoughtful." Hinata added that last remark to get Kageyama to look up.

"I'm always thoughtful." he retorted.

"nope" Hinata said while sticking out his tongue.

"tch, whatever. But yeah um, happy birthday." He said again. "Your hair is hilarious" he added.

"What no!" Hinata felt his head and it was soaking wet. "gwAH when did it get so wet?!!" he ruffled his hair in attempt to make it fluffy, but it was not use.

"I poured water on you, at least you woke up" Kageyama replied causally.

"NOOOOO!" Hinata kept patting his hair. "It's my birthday Kageyama! You could've, I don't know, shaken me awake? Now I'm going to have to go to all my classes like this" he sighed.

"We have a free day today idiot. We just all came to practice. There's no school today, it's a teacher holiday" Kageyama said as if he should've known this.

"I DIDN'T KNOW THAT" he punched Kageyama in the shoulder and said "Well then let's go get food. I'm hungry, I skipped breakfast." he patted his stomach and smiled up at Kageyama.

"You're just gonna skip practice?" Kageyama's face looked hurt.

"Well yeah, Suga-san is probably gonna have me sit out today anyway" he said casually. Truth be told, Hinata wanted to hang out with Kageyama today. He didn't know why, but he had a feeling he should spend time with him today, like his life depended on it. And he never brushed off his gut feelings. Kageyama nodded at him and then went inside to tell them team they were leaving.

"He feels sick and I'm gonna um, take him home, see ya." That earned Kageyama snickers from Tsukishima and smirks from Noya-san and Tanaka-san.

"Is the King going to escort his Queen home?" Tsukishima snickered and muffled a laugh. which earned him a 'Nice one Tsukki' from Yamaguchi.

Kageyama walked out with Hinata, and they started heading to Ukai's shop to grab some meat buns.
