Chapter 3

My first class was math. Great, just great. Not only do I hate math, I suck at it. I walked into the classroom, and the math teacher grabbed my wrist and tugged me into the room. "Hello, there, stranger! Introduce yourself!" she greeted. "H-hi! I am P-Penelope. I was sent he-" the teacher cut me off. "Okay! Why don't you sit next to Mario over there for us!" She pointed to a kid sitting at the back of the room, black, messy hair, green eyes, pale skin, and was wearing a grey shirt. He looked up and noticed me, then pulled out the chair next to him and patted it. I walked down the isle, all preying eyes on me. I finally sit down, grabbing my math textbook that the nice lady at the front office gave me. "I have never seen you around here, before. You new?" Mario asked me. "Y-yes." He chuckled. "You don't need to be shy, I won't bite," he said, tucking my red hair behind my ear. I blushed. I kept my face downward, but my eyes looking up at him. He smirked. "You are fairly pretty," "T-thank you," I said. "Hey, Mario! Quit flirting with the new girl!" Mario sighed, while slumping down into his chair. "Phil, I'm trying to be a friend." he said. Friend?  I felt my heart sink into my stomach. Snap out of it, Pen, you just met the guy, of course he's gonna say friend. I just wish someone would at least like me. No, Pen, you're being too desperate. The bell rang. I quickly stuffed the book into my backpack. What a loooong period. Mario offered me to walk with him until our next class. I took his offer. "Hey, Pen! Is it okay if I call you Pen?" I nodded. "So, what do you like?" I looked up, tucking my hair behind my ear. "W-well, I like to draw, sing, language arts, pizza and my Aunt Raini. Ialsolikeyou," I said, the last part was really fast. "Huh?" he said. "Oh, n-nothing," I said back. Well, we're here. See ya!" I waved. A girl with long brown hair, a minty green shirt and blue eyes walked up to him. She was touching his arm, and kissing him; Ugh! I hid behind a wall and listened to their conversation. "Hey, Mario! So, is the party still on for tonight?" she said. He nodded. "Okay, see ya there~!" she said in a sing song voice. Mario was heading my way, and I quickly turned to a locker to pretend I just closed it. He didn't notice me. Good. I didn't want him to think I was spying on them.
