7:40 AM
First day of senior year. Not so small anymore. The idea of starting fresh again. Going to be more organized, even though I know for a fact that's not going to last. Excitement rushing through my veins. Tingles running up and down my spine. The longing to see my friends. To start a new year together.
"You still have 20 minutes until school starts." My mom says.
"I know. I'm just gonna watch some tv then." I said.
15 minutes pass by. A smile on my face. It's almost time. I know I'm gonna regret this soon. Senior year sounds a little stressful. More classes, more tests, and especially more homework. Why am I so happy then? I gather all my things and head out the door.
"Bye, mom!" I yelled.
"Have a good time! Love you!" She yelled.
"Love you too!" I then close the door behind me and start walking to school. It's literally 5 minutes away. As I'm heading to school, I can see many students reuniting with their friends. I enter school and walk towards my first class, math. Specifically calculus. Math has been my favorite subject since elementary. As I'm walking in I can spot my best friend Crystal. I call her name and she turns to me.
"Charlene!" She yelled as she got up from her seat and ran towards me. We hugged like we haven't seen each other in ages.
"I missed you so much," I said.
"Me too. I hope this day turns out well."
"I hope so too."
We took our seats. The teacher then told us that she had already assigned the class their seats. She moved me in the back and Crystal towards the front. That made me sad. She finished giving everyone their permanent seat for the year. Everyone else had partners except for me. I'm fine with that. More space to work on.
15 minutes pass by and I already want to go home. I yawn but it stops midway by a knock on the door. The teacher stops her lesson and opens the door. It's a boy. Someone who I've never seen before. His tattoos make everyone stare. He has an unusual hair color. Which suits him. He hands the teacher a piece of paper. She nods and points towards my direction. No please. I want all this space for myself. What can I say, I'm selfish. The boy walks to my desk and sits down. The teacher resumes with the lesson.
"Hi." He smiles. "I'm Michael."
