~DUNE~
Dune Lucifer Callow pressed his forearm against the darkened trunk of the oak tree he had decisively perched himself on. His cobalt blue eyes searched the black blanket of the night time sky, wandering across the stars, and finding their way to the full moon. It seemed different somehow; like a painter took a brush over it, making its usual pale luminescent grey light a very, very dull hue. The odd coloring of the sky reminded him of a monotone sunset scene, but instead of the sun, was a dim full moon. Dune stood, feet positioned perfectly as he did, raising himself above the leaves of the tree. He saw everything; from the forest below, to the white caps of the mountains that peaked off in the distance. Dune breathed the crisp air deeply, tasting a harsh storm brewing far off. He begrudgingly left his comfortable spot, nimbly hoping himself downward from branch to branch. He landed almost perfectly silent on the ground, and quickly checked his surroundings. His sensei had always taught him to do that, and for good reason. As a loner, Dune had been attacked by many packs seeking revenge on the mighty Pure-breeds. He picked himself up, dusting off his pants from the dirt cloud that had risen from his landing, and made his way home. These woods were no longer his, and he had to respect the laws of the wolven.
His memory flared, and the black haired boy caught himself looking harshly at a pool of water that lay by his feet. He squated down, dipping his hand down to feel it's cool surface. The water rippled, and he saw his life from before; white hair, and glowing amber eyes. The picture of a Pure wolven. He shook his head, and patted his ruffled neck-hair down. "Not now, not now..." He reminded himself. A long howl pierced the silence of the forest, making Dune go rigid in his spot. He picked his head up, scanning the area. Another howl, shorter this time. And closer. Without a second thought, Dune shifted wolf, his large masculine form shimmered fur rippling from his skin, his bones clacking to take on a new shape. He backed himself up, hiding in an overly sized bush. He waited patiently. The howling had sounded like it had been getting closer to him, but there was no way to tell, there was only two. A scream made his ears thrum in pain. A human. Female. He deducted from the pitch and tone, not to mention they're close by. Unlucky soul. He let out a low growl, as a grey blur caught his attention. A white wolf charged after the speeding figure. Dune's ears pricked forward, and he ran closely behind, to keep tabs on the dispute.
By the time Dune had entered the clearing, the large male grey had the girl edged up by an overhang of stone. The light brunette was cowering, trying to enclose herself into a small crack in the rocky edge. The wolf picked his muzzle up, looking around, and began to growl dangerously. The idiot is going to attack a human! Dune lunged in between the pair, large canines snapping angrily. The smaller wolf yelped, as Dune's fangs nearly clipped his whiskers. "What is your business with the human, half-blood?" He snarled, the hackles between his shoulders raising with his anger. The brunette squealed again, trying to hide herself more desperately. The white wolf look appaled.
"P-Prince?"
"I KNOW WHO I AM, WOLF!" He snapped in a roar, nose scrunching in disgust. The white wolf lowered his tail, letting it tuck under his belly. "I asked you a question! What is your business with the human?" He repeated, glaring intesifying with each passing second.
"Girl is not human." The small canine mumbled, trying to scoot away.
Dune looked over his shoulder to the girl, then whipped his muzzle around at the wolf once again. "Looks pretty human to me!" Poor thing...he huffed, tail curled above his head.
"Girl is like you sir. Wolven." The wolf pleaded, whimpering like a pup.
"How? The only wolven are the Pures. We have distinct scents, one she doesn't have." He growled, taking a step closer to the male.
