Why Don't You be the Artist?

I wiped my eyes softly, the tears still freely falling down my face. I sniffled every now and then, which caused strange looks from the preppy girls who came in to fix their makeup every hour. I just sat on the floor in the stall until someone came to save me. I started to hum quietly to myself, before I broke out into full song.

"Why don't you be the artist, and make me out of clay? Why don't you be the writer, and decide the words I say? Cause I'd rather pretend, that I'll still be there at the end. Only it's too hard to ask, wont you try to help me?" I sang quietly, beginning to get louder throughout the song

"Sat on the sofa, it's all broken strings. This isn't the place for those violin strings. I try out a smile, and I aim it at you. You must have missed it, you always do. But I've got a plan-"

I all of the sudden got cut off by a beautiful male voice that I have never heard before.

"Why don't you be the artist, and make me out of clay? Why don't you be the writer and decide the words I say? Cause I'd rather pretend that I'll still be there at the end. Only it's too hard to ask. Wont you try to help me?" The voice sings, in a low husky voice.

I turn around to see Harry. I smile, and decide to keep on going.

"You wait, I'll wait, casting shadows interrupted." I sing quite loudly.

"You wait, I'll wait, casting shadows interrupted." He replies, now standing right in front of me

"You wait, I'll wait, casting shadows interrupted. You wait, I'll wait, casting shadows.."

We both smile at each other, before we both break out into the chorus.

"Why don't you be the artist, and make me out of clay? Why don't you be the writer, and decide the words I say? Cause I'd rather pretend, I'll still be there at the end. Only it's too hard to ask. Wont you try to help me?"

We finish, now sitting side by side in the bathroom stall. His hand slides between mine, interlocking our fingers. I try to hide the blush forming on my face, but it's no use.

"Why don't you be the artist?" He asks abruptly, looking me dead in the eye.

"What do you mean?" I reply, confused on his comment.

"You have a remarkable voice. You should use it more often." He smiles at me.

"You really think so? I don't think-"

"Stop right there. Your voice is so amazing, I bet it would make the birds fall silent." He whispers in my ear, sending chills down my spine.

I smiled at him genuinely, "Thank you."

 "You're welcome, beautiful."

My heart fluttered, as I started to hum once again.
