At birth I was given a necklace.

Nobody knew exactly how the necklace came to me; the stories by my family members varied from seemingly possible to completely outrageous. The only story I could truly believe is my grandfather's:

Attached was a note:

To whomever received the necklace,
It's caused me too much trouble. You'll find out soon enough.

After years of nothing weird from the necklace, I could've trashed it. But the warm aura about the pendant, and its mesmerizing colors as vibrant as the fiery sun were difficult to ignore.

I had always wondered if there was something special to it.
